Very difficult scenes as the Dáil debates child homelessness just days out from Christmas. While Housing Min @MurphyEoghan says Gov is doing all it can, FF TD @PatCaseyTD says children are being made “economic refugees” and SF TD @ImeldaMunster breaks down in tears #homelessness

This morning.
More as we get it.
Blushirts work harder for banks, developers and corporate tax evaders..
When compared to what everyone else has to pay in the market for property ownership or renting, council housing is most certainly free.
you’re thinking about it backwards. in a properly functioning, fair society ALL housing should be reasonable, affordable and appropriate to need.
well said scottser
” in a properly functioning, fair society ALL housing should be reasonable, affordable and appropriate to need.”
That is actually absolute nonsense.
In a properly functioning, fair society, there should be an adequate supply of reasonable, affordable etc housing, but not ALL housing should be affordable etc. A 20-bedroom mansion overlooking Dublin Bay etc can be – and will be – priced at an extreme premium. That does NOT imply society is not fair and functioning,
who actually needs a 20 bedroom mansion overlooking dublin bay? in my fair society it wouldn’t get planning permission. but the society successive governments have created is neither fair, reasonable or sustainable as you well know.
I’ll believe the sincerity of he likes RBB when he takes issue with the number of recent arrivals taking up scarce social housing. Great man for quibbles but no solutions
Well played Mayor, you’ve really laid bare the lack of solutions he proposes by showing some yourself, instead of just quibbling
Pretty sure he’s proposing social housing.
That’s alright. She has a month off now to dry her tears
Did SF TD break down in tears as bandwagon passed by too fast for her to jump on?
