    a bit sad really

/s ooh ooh I know…I’ll get some electrical circuit component symbol tats done to show everyone I’m really an electrical engineer even though my actual job is in

Well, she doesn’t have to look at it so it’s not really an issue for her. So why not?

It displays her stupidity for all the world and wherever she goeth the world shall laugh at her expense.

        1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

When she’s ponytailed. Otherwise her hair would cover it.
I miss long hair but can’t be arsed starting to grow mine again.

You’re starting to sound a bit like a stalker now BB.

            How’s the restraining order going?

          2. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

One of the kids in creche keeps calling me BabyAndyourp’s Daddy. I laughingly say “No, I’m her MUMMY” but in fact am not laughing inside and think he’s a right dope of a kid.

          3. mildred st. meadowlark

I went full Mia Farrow after I had mini meadowlark. She pulled a good chunk of my hair out and I’d had enough.

my lowest moment was bending down to a 4 year-old who got it into his head that it was hilarious to shout “why are you such a silly?” to my daughter every morning to ask him (in a whisper), “why are you such a fatty?”

i pretended not to know why he was crying

My son was being tormented by a kid in his class.
I taught him how to mimic the bully’s speech impediment.
Hate me all you want, it was VERY effective.

          6. Brother Barnabas

            beautiful!

slightly more seriously – a guy I work with now and again has a 14 year old who (with his dad’s encouragement) came out as gay. immediately one guy in his class started making his life hell – really nasty stuff. school weren’t much use and bully’s parents refused to get involved. so father + 2 friends waited for bully outside school, followed him down the road a bit and threatened to beat the fupp out of him if he so much as looked in son’s direction again. terrified him. problem solved.

I told this to a friend of mine who’s a teacher. he said that every teacher would agree that this is the best way of dealing with bullying – but obviously can’t be the official approach. I’d do it.

I had to deal with a kid who was bullying mini meadowlark when she was in her first year of Montessori. No kid should have to deal with that kind of poo poo at the age of three.

          8. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

I hear you. I’d go full bottomwipe on anyone (of any age) who even thought about hurting my kid emotionally or physically.

          9. Lush

Oh how I sympathise about the hair length andyourp.
Mine is growing back after an illness and it’s at the ghastly, sticking out all over stage; neither short nor long. It’s all I can do to not cut it all off.

          10. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

Sorry to hear that, Lush. Hope all’s well now.
Aye. It was quite short, then before Christmas I decided I’d get a pixie cut and now it’s too short. I’m impatient as hell and bottle blonde — therefore I have to get it dyed every 5-6 weeks: I’ve already told the hairdresser to just chop it again as I just can’t face the stage you’re at. I’ll have to grasp the nettle soon though. I’m sick of it.

          11. Pete

Yeah some kid was bullying my son at national school. Real nasty fifth class stuff. So i actually rounded up ten or twelve of my heaviest mates and we stopped the bully on his way home and bate him senseless with metal pipes. Me and three of the lads done four and a half years for gbh. Totally worth it though. Every teacher I talked to since said they would do the same but of course they can’t say that officially

Be curious to know how many of us have tattoos on here.
    I’ve none.
I don’t have strong feelings about them either way, I don’t judge people who have them, they’re just not for me.

    1. Lush

I don’t have one either, but have been thinking of getting one for over a decade; I doubt it’s going to happen.
I clearly do not have the strength of my convictions.

      1. bertie blenkinsop

What would you get if you took the plunge?
I just can’t think of anything I’d want FOREVER
(although at my age forever isn’t that long)

        1. Lush

Was going to get a tiny little rose on my ‘lower back’. Infound something rather beautiful on Pinterest. A nod to beating the big C and in a spot relatively hidden; just for me.
I may yet go ahead, if I can get the funds together.

          1. Naomi

@ Lush So good to hear about your recovery, brave lady. Would it be expensive to have your rose tattoo? I have no idea how expensive tattoos are x

          2. mildred st. meadowlark

Oh Lushie, well done my dear on coming through the nastiest of fights. Hope you’re on the up and up, my love xx

          3. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

My dear ole Mum is just going through chemo at the mo. I think that’s half the reason I got the hair chopped…
Super positive vibes being sent your way. xx

          4. Lush

Thanks for the good vibes guys.
I’m all good; nearly a year on and it all seems like a bad dream,
Hugs to you and your Mum Andyourpointiswhatexactly?; it”s hard on everyone.
And, if I may, it’s after the treatment is over that she will need your support the most – everyone slips away once your hair starts to grow back.
I know everyone has a story, but if I can be of any help at all, let me know

          5. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

Thanks, Lush. We’ll see. She certainly doesn’t have any high expectations of a quick recovery after chemo, she’s so wrecked. I’m posting down a fancy red lipstick to her today for the last blast of chemo on Friday, so she can look the way she likes and like the way she looks. I can’t wait for her to be a year over it like you are.

    2. The Ghost of Starina

I have five, so far. A html/graphic designer pal of mine has a much cooler tat than this — just the four CMYK colour test dots on his wrist. ULTRANERD.

  3. Paddy at the Howth Summit

Invalid HTML syntax by the way.

Empty elements are closed with a trailing /, and not leading. It should be head/

    So much for coder dojo.

unless she is attempting to convey that the head finishes there (a closing tag) and the body starts (an opening tag)..

I bet she has the <head> at the top of her head and a </body> on her ankle.
