Interesting alright. I suppose they have to invent another slush machine now that NAMA has been outed over the past few years. Funny that they say that €3bn of NAMA. profits could be used. Eh – That €3bn (if the figure is correct) is a paper-based figure on what was gifted to NAMA at knock down prices. Trying to put it across as some achievement when in fact the return was a loss.
A time-limited excercise they propose? Nope. Another place to employ party faithful.

Possibly but if FF and SF are planning to make housing an election issue then that has to be welcomed. It affects not just those renting but all those ‘early risers’ who spend 3+ hours a day commuting because they can’t afford anywhere closer.
That photo was taken about a thousand years ago. Or maybe he just got the pictures desk to airbrush it. Make the jowls disappear, much like he makes real news stories about Garda shenanigans go away. Pouf!

I think this story is quite illuminating about the current state of US politics. While a load of anti-Trump posturing via the media may be in vogue, meanwhile the influence of the deep state continues regardless!
“anti-trump posturing”, “deep-state”.
you’re cute.
far from the deep state, these are perfectly aboveboard congressional politicians. though i am happy to hear that you oppose surveillance just as much under trump as you did under obama.
Nigel
What’s weird is he’s still opposing Obama and Clinton and the Democrats even though it’s the Republicans and Trump in power. Apparently there’s something wrong with not liking them.

@petey “these are perfectly aboveboard congressional politicians.”
Here’s a tip: if you want to make any kind of convincing point , you need to substantiate your claims with something..
I’m interested to hear your reasoning as to why these ” perfectly aboveboard congressional politicians” who claim that Trump is an agent of Putin would vote to extend his administration’s vast spying powers. Isn’t there some kind of a disconnect of logical reasoning there?
petey
haha, i see what you did there.

Whats’s with the massive ads for a cult?
You’d think those papers would have more sense.
Lilly
Do you mean the School of Philosophy? It’s hardly a cult.
paddy apathy
It might not be a cult (yet), but it has a very shady financial setup and management, the philosophies taught are dubious ones at best and they endeavour to lead their “students” to the conclusion that religion is reasonable and logical. Who they are and to what end their motives lead them is unknown.
Lilly
Interesting. Which religion, if any, do they endorse? They run the John Scotus school, don’t they.
The editor of the Daily Star is a blindfolded monkey..

“fake news” scare is a way for old media to grapple some control back from the web via this, pffft, “watchdog”.
I believe it’ll only play to the hands of even fewer media sources / less transparency / more propaganda based views / censorship… and what not :)
And +1… total joke

“The most bizarre aspect of this spectacle was that the Democrats who most aggressively defended Trump’s version of the surveillance bill — the Democrats most eager to preserve Trump’s spying powers as virtually limitless — were the very same Democratic House members who have become media stars this year by flamboyantly denouncing Trump as a treasonous, lawless despot in front of every television camera they could find.”
