How could he look any other way? It’s a testament to his genetic makeup that he’s still alive, really, given the battering his body has taken.

I’m glad to see her there, last I heard, admittedly more than a decade ago, they’d fallen out but now I can go back to properly enjoying ‘I Wanna Be Haunted By The Goat Of Your Precious Love’ again because I love that song.

That is hilarious Brother. Remember the grilling Plank gave Shane on the late late. Poor ole MacGowan thought he was in the high court. Plank put out all the stops for an intervention. I thought the cops were going to come out and arrest him. Eventually after realiising he could answer back he said she’d do anything for publicity. But in fairness he has some great people around him that really care including Sinead. His father put Plank in his place that night and spoke so lovely of his son.

Oh, I saw that bit. It made me teary. Such a horrible question to ask and such a lovely, understated, classy answer from Shane’s Dad.

yeah for sure – bleak contrast between compassion and decency of Shane with the sneaky insinuations from Kenny

be great if she was named in the Broadsheet caption at the end of all the photos…metoo and all that…? maybe she’s covered by “and more”…not good, not good.

Is that Camille O’Sullivan standing between Johnny Depp and Bobby Gillespie in the last picture??? Looks like she’s been working out!

She’s going out with Aiden Gillen, isn’t she? I was about to say you wouldn’t see him as he’s fairly titchy, but to be fair, he’d be fine standing next near Bono.

It was. She was amazing as was cait o’riordan. Macgowan can sing better than he can speak. Amazing night

He’s well deserving of the honour but the public nature of the event seems a bit intrusive to me. He doesn’t look at all well.

    Godspeed Shane!

It was a great night – I was one of the lucky ones to have gotten a ticket. Sinead O’Connor and Lisa O’Neill were the highlights of the night for me. Not convinced Depp’s guitar was plugged in though.

  4. Sir Adolf Von Bratwurst

I remember seeing him in Dublin airport in 2002 and he looked terrible, far worse than he looks now. that was over 15 years ago so all things considered, he seems to be doing ok.

In light of Dolores’ untimely passing, it’s nice to see Shane feted by his peers while he’s still here, even if it looks like the family visiting Grandad on his 90th birthday.
