What a night.

A big thank you to, clockwise from top left: ‘Preposterous‘; Neil Curran, Lucky Khumbula, Vanessa Foran and Olga Cronin, our panel on last night’s broadsheet on the Telly.

Two and a bit hours of quality natter.

Our ‘at a glance’ guide:

2:00 – Joanne Cantwell takes over from Michael Lyster
10:40 – The “Grid Girls” out of a job

25:22 – “Preposterous’ and his steroid-free rugby career
30:53 – The return of Lucky with a Direct Provision update
55:30 – De Entertainment Slot
1:19:41 – De Papers
1.21.49 – tin foil chat
1:34:21 – Disclosures  Tribunal with the ‘sheet‘s Olga.

Contains some unavoidable ‘effing and blinding’.

Sorry.

That was a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed it all.
    Fair play to you Preposterous.
It looked like you were crashing after the entertainment slot but Holy God, didn’t Olga come on and refuel ye midflight. Even the Accountant ended up firing on all cylinders, and after 2 hours with no breaks at midnight.

I did not think you would keep it up at the start with the poor turnouts, and even more so after panelists left in numbers so suddenly.

Keep it up Broadsheet. Do not let the number of views hold you down or hold you back.

Watched bits of it. Vanessa is great. Calls it like it is. She’s interesting & keeps you engaged.

She was bang on about Noreen & Frances and the disclosures tribunal.

Olga seems to be more considered in her language when giving her opinion. There’s a lot of “um, I dunno, am I optimistic about the findings..um I dunno, maybe not, erm something maybe”. Sorry..I know she was tired but it’s frustrating to listen to.

Like do you have an opinion of not at this stage? “my opinion for what it’s worth” she said.. If you’re there every day, it’s worth a lot. Why not call it as you see it? The dogs on the street know what they tried to do to McCabe. It’s a cabal of an organisation – the guards, and Frances was complicit in their corruption.

Why not call it the shambles it is? Why not say what you believe they orchestrated again Maurice McCabe? Vanessa said it outright. It’s disgusting what they did to him.

Where’s Johnny ? He also kept you engaged and spoke out of turn a bit and was a bit of crack.

We need a few more buzzers to balance out the sensible wans like. :-)

Really enjoy this, but it needs to be like shay healy’s nighthawks version two, with john visiting various tables, a sub plot etc and entertainment, in a studio – I’m sure it’s possible.

    1. Auto Corrupt

      Interesting idea Lord Muck.
I wonder though, would you keep the panel as it is?

If I was asked, I would say build something around the fixed trio of Preposterous, Vanesa and Neill, with Olga coming in from a more newsdesk style delivering the breaking news of the day and giving updates from investigations and tribulations.

Then maybe go to open discussion, either with the three above or the interactive audience on YouTube.

One-way or another, the trio of Preposterous & Vanesa & Neil have shown they can manage any topic.

  4. Frilly Nation : The Rupture is real

    Yeah
    Definitely worth the view
Either on screen or just to listen
    like a podcast when ye’re out n’about
    Like I do
Every part of it was interesting or entertaining
    Mostly both
And it’s great being able to hear every word that’s uttered
Fair play to Olga Cronin, logging in so late and after pulling an all nighter. And still able to deliver tactfully and Professionally.

    Best bit of e49?
    Lucky’s new gaff
    Welcome home Lucky
