The council should just ban cyclists from parking there and remove those barriers. Problem solved, yay!

The problem with Chopped is this…. Every single mouthful tastes exactly the same as the last and it’s endless. It’s boring and not at all enjoyable. Now, if you want to eat a really healthy piece of fastish food, go to Cocu.

I agree, food is muck. It’s the stuff they put in subway sambos except they stick it in a wrap or plastic bowl

If you look at the picture, the metal yokes that the bikes are chained to are a good 75cm from the road (there is a curbstone and full slab between them and the road) this reduces the room for pedestrians.

I haven’t been there recently, but there should be enough room for a wheelchair/buggy to pass between the hording + bikes.

          This is a non-issue.

(I’m not blaming the bikes, just explaining – like)

Very true and when their closed and the furniture is taken in. It’s a very slippy spot when wet with those old small glass cellar tiles set in the footpath.

There is loads of space on the right!! And they are in line with the Georgian fronts in the buildings 2 doors down, which they were at some stage. Attention seeking nonsense.

If you can’t fit through that space, you probably need to go into Chopped more often and sort out your diet.

Said with all the certainty of someone who’s never had to navigate the city centre with a buggy.

Mildred a pal of mine just had her second baba and has decided to forgo the buggy altogether as it was such a nightmare with the first. slings all the way!

          3. mildred st. meadowlark

Actually, I’m a fan of the sling myself. The child is thankfully at an age where she can be dragged around by the hand while I ignore her protests.

I also have to say, I’m a big fan of getting the kid onto the back of the bike, and they she likes it too.

A sling or a backpack was always just the thing, but kids get too big to carry while still needing a buggy for when they get tired, and slings and backpacks don’t suit everyone.

If there is a wheelchair or buggy that is going to take up all available space meaning people with either have to wait at the other end or step out into the road. Really, when a private business is taking over more of the path than is available to walk on I don’t know why you would defend that.

      1. Qwerty123

The point is it is not the path, it is their private property. The issue, if there is one, is the placement of the bikes racks.

  3. paver

the property lines have been sawn into the pavement , chopped hoarding in on their own private property, you’ll see this all over Dublin City ,

That type of logic and reasoning by opening your eyes wont gain attention and increase twitter followers now will it??

  4. Dhaughton99

I’m STUNNED at how popular this place has become. Lettuce in a plastic container. Who’d da thunk it.

  5. Barry the Hatchet

This is okay, but those sandwich board signs sitting on the pavement outside every bloody coffee place in town drive me bonkers.

    1. 3stella

Just knock them over if they are unreasonably in your way out on the path, they soon get the message.

It’s the Begger-Blok-5000 – as in, unfortunate people begging on the the street can’t beg money from the customers inexplicably eating salad outdoors on the diesel polluted street..
