Good for him. Hopefully his success will open the doors being a traveller denied him. It’s disgraceful in the 21st century that your family heritage is held against you like that.

Its crazy that he can’t get an agent. Bloody hell! He’s been in popular shows and Films. Fair play to him for telling the uncomfortable truth

Hopefully, his success will open doors for him, and speak for his talent as an actor, and not his background.

    tedious mé-féinism

has he not heard about the homeless crisis in this country, yet here he is waffling on about his own existential non-problems

maybe no-one wants to hire because
    a) he’s not a great actor or
    b) he’s a massive chip on his shoulder or
    c) there’s not that many traveller parts – can he do Shakespeare or Beckett or
    d) all of the above

Such an inflated sense of entitlement and vanity – he’s going to go a long way in showbiz

I’m sure the ordinary decent people of Darndale cringed looking at the way they were represented in that movie.

I watched Cardboard Gangster recently on Netflix – I have to say John O’Connor looks a tad different. I grew up when “Travellers” were “Gypsies” – their own description/nomenclature. My dad (RIP) and his mate were asked to attend a “settled” camp to address water issues (my dad was a plumber) his mate was a carpenter. They addressed and fixed everything and were paid by a large trout?

The large trout was payment – an anecdote from my dad’s cellar of stories is all. Jeez, I kinda knew I was in trouble when I mentioned “Gypsies”….

I’m curious about John Connors past? Is he as much a victim as he makes himself out to be? I doubt it very much.

And agents don’t want the crap beaten out of them by you and 20 cousins, if you don’t get the part. They’re not total idiots that way.
