Why does Dermot wear that moustache? Is it because he likes it, or to hide a curled lip, or bad teeth, or just?

Why are newspaper sales slipping? (a) We can get news free off the internet. (b) Newspapers are too preachy. We either want to be objectively informed, or we want to be entertained. (c) Even local weekly newspapers are now read to see whose picture is in the paper, or farmers want to see adverts for farm machinery and latest grant schemes.
Newspapers need to reinvent themselves or they will shrivel up.
Free door-to-door local papers are read for the local adverts; the best ones try to put in nuggets of area news. National newspapers have capital and expertise and can make themselves regionally newsy.

    Simple
    They are loosing credibility
I also when you become a tool to spread propaganda and a line you will eventually not be believed
The media are anti trump anti brexit and controlled by Murdoch O’Brien etc
You would get more impartiality in the Russian press
Also the indo shut down its comments to the public which is an attempt to stifle free speech no matter how unpalatable to the pc brigade
Since then I do not even buy a indo for my customers in my pub

Sit on any commuter train and you will see why, people just don’t do hard copy anymore. It is expensive, cumbersome and usually out of date by the time it is printed. As for being slanted, it probably always was except now people have other sources to compare it to.
