Removing The Eighth Posters

at

This morning.

Kevin Doyle writes:

Yesterday on my way to work the junction of the N81 with Cookstown way/Whitestown way at Tallaght Stadium, had a pretty equal ratio of yes and no posters.

Now at 11am it has none and LoveBoth posters in the place of the Yes ones.

Pictures 1-2 is how it looks now. Picture 3 is of a poster identical to the ones removed.

PS The Yes posters removed were pink as were the No posters that replaced them.

Anyone?

Typical behaviour from the pro-life gang, who shown their true characters as a gang on lying charlatans.

As it is, posters should be banned for elections/referendums.

I heartily agree. If you are so feeble minded that a poster will influence your vote on ANY issue, should you really have the franchise? Election posters are a particular but bear of mine. Pollution, nothing more.

      Bit like here
Posts from anti repeal being deleted
Soon this will be a board that just has everyone agreeing on everything
Then after a while it disappears into the horizon as something with no credibility

I think that I will never see
Yes posters on a pole or tree
And if pro-lifers make them fall
I’ll never see a Yes poster at all.

If you can decode it you may get a call from a secret line in Whitehall.
      That’s London, not Drumcondra.

It’s actually quite clear, he’s saying that your lot are taking down the YES posters and replacing them with their own. But you already know that don’t you.

      1. newsjustin

G’way out of that with your “your lot”. I’m a sole trader fella on the internet. And I abhor the removal of posters.

And don’t try and tell me that the message wasn’t confusingly worded and illustrated, which is what I pointed out.

        1. realPolithicks

There is nothing confusing whatsoever about his message, you simply don’t like what he had to say so you were mocking it. As for your being a “sole trader on the internet” you certainly put a lot of effort into it, I don’t know if you post on other sites but there isn’t a repeal post on this site where you don’t comment multiple times.

          1. newsjustin

You must be really embarrassed about your lot taking down and vandalising posters as well realPolithicks? Since we’re all sharing the guilt of people whose view on abortion we share.

Quiet you, don’t let sensible reasonable most likely answers get in the way of a good argument!

Funny how quickly one gets used to grotesque. We’re certainly over-canvassed where I live and with the same poster: a human trunk (no head or legs) with a fetus in ellipse, with a flirty pink twist of umbilical cord. I am sure you’ve seen them ones. Most honest poster so far :-)

the no side are so trumpian .. they constantly go on about unfair coverage .. waaahh wahh the coverage doesnt give us a fair chance to state our case, its media bias, waaa .. but then they make up horrendous lies, and they do things like this, replacing yes posters with no. luckily they seem to be outnumbered, but it’s worrying how many there are, and how theyre growing. As it would lead to Trumpy ways being the norm here. Although having said that, we have the worst government we’ve ever had, but not yet as bad as the septics. but could go that way easily.

  4. eric cartman

    disgraceful carry on.
that said theres also that video of trinity students removing no posters, so both sides are at this.

      1. newsjustin

The thing is, removing any posters is a scumbag thing to do. People removing Yes posters are scumbags and people removing No posters are scumbags.

But the only people who will defend removing posters, and still try to pretend that they are reasonable, progressive and decent people happen to be pro-choice people.

        1. mildred st. meadowlark

That’s a ridiculous generalisation. Patently foolish. Most unlike you, newsjustin. Still, it’s been a long week, hasn’t it?

          1. newsjustin

I’ve never seen a pro-life person defend the removal of posters. Posters are removed by scumbags on both sides. But I’ve only ever read self-professed pro-choice people try to defend it.
Btw. That’s not a generalisation on pro-choice people. The majority of people know it’s bad to remove posters. I’d be interested if anyone knows of any pro-life people publicly defending the removal of posters.

          2. mildred st. meadowlark

            This is horrendously petty.

I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. As I said above I don’t think posters should be used at all, but this kind of carry on does both sides a disservice. It belittles the whole point of this referendum. Ffs.

          3. newsjustin

South America can be found on the internet Repro.

Find me one example on the internet of a pro-life supporter defending the illegal removal or vandalisation of posters.

            (What is petty Mildred?)

        2. Nigel

No, see, if they were removing no posters, then they weren’t removing any posters because there were no posters to remove and and and never mind

          1. newsjustin

Ah yeah. I get the gag. My point stands though.
You know yourself Nigel. There are a small amount of pro choice people who defend poster removal online. I’ve never seen pro life people defend it. Open to correction though.

          2. Nigel

Pro-choice people will publicly defend the removal of Yes posters? Now that’s taking tolerance too far.

        3. George

Do you remember when they painted over the mural in Waterford? And defended it on Liveline.

    1. david

      New just in
The Russians have been seen near our reservoirs, apparently according to garda intelligence which prompted the expulsion of their envoy ,they are tampering with our water by adding substances to influence the voters to vote no
After the prime time exposure of the massive underground facility they are building which showed drone footage over their embassy in rathgar
Believable? Well as believable as the accusations from the repeal mob
