The blowing in the wind pic in The Independent of The Donald reveals how complicated a job his hairdresser must have.

I know there are good reasons why so many dislike FF, especially with the current leader but without going into details, I had the pleasure of working for Mary O’Rourke and she can have an employee reference from me anytime.

    1. Alex francis

She’s super at sitting on the fence saying nothing and holding the party line. a loathsome individual masquerading as everyone’s mammy. sick

      1. SOQ

There is two ways of getting to know someone, live with them or work for them. I did the second and Mary defended her staff like nobody I seen before or since.

She was clueless when Bertie was illegally lining his pockets..

Imagine, a finance minister without a bank account and she supported him.

        2. bisted

…Mammy O’Rourke always struck me as if she was still in the classroom trying to keep a page ahead of her pupils…she was fiercely loyal though…to her family dynasty…

          1. Brother Barnabas

fiercely loyal when it was in her own interests to be fiercely loyal

she stood by cowen over his radio interview… until he wasn’t her boss anymore – then she gave it to between the eyes. If she’d given a poo about the country, she’d have demanded his resignation that same day.

          2. Martco

            A) Antisocial Personality Disorder

            B) Vocational, emotionally engaged & civic

the system as it is exists ensures that A) types are the ones who sit on the perch in Leinster House

our system enables people like Mary O’Rourke, Varadker and the like to exist

          3. Frilly Keane

            Here Brudder
If she even gave that’s much about the country
She’d never have accepted Transport & Industry back in the pre back in the day

‘thought the whole thing was a joke

SOQ: “Mary defended her staff like nobody I seen before or since.”
Perhaps. But she should have been defending her constituents and the general public.

My impression of her is the same as Alex’s above – she acted the mammy. She would arrive to events to “show her support” and would press the flesh. But never seems to actually do anything or change anything.

    2. Brother Barnabas

I’d disagree with you that “the current leader” is the main reason people dislike FF, soq

Canney is some piece of work. The mask slips and we see him directly as the slithery, self serving snake that he is. Although I think everyone is united in wanting to see that other snake Moran out of office. Imagine a a minister that can’t read properly. You couldn’t write comedy like that

    1. Frilly Keane

Maybe it’ll be the Alliance that triggers a GE

And not the huff n’puffs FFers ah’tall
( You only need a few FF grumps to break the party whip.. dun dun duuuunnnn)

“Liverpool players pray for fan’s recovery” – The Times Ireland Edition makes a bunch of people mumbling into the void a front page headline?

For a sport soccer has a certain following that behave like scum
I would say animals but that insults animals for animals do not behave in such a fashion
Sadly this prevents me from any interest in football or soccer
As a child I supported Liverpool and went with my dad to matches
It was great especially at half time
      A bovril and meat pie
In the 1970s you then saw a mentality attending matches and the football associations never bothered tackling it
It ended up like tribal wars
I see even today its still prevalent as clubs rake in the cash and refuse to eradicate the violence

      1. Brother Barnabas

you’re going to have to start keeping notes as you develop david’s background and character

not long ago, you said your father abandoned your mother, leaving her with several young children

last week, you said your father was a lifelong arsenal fan who used to bring you to the clock end as a child

now he was a liverpool fan and used to bring you to anfield

          1. Listrade

He may be real, but I have a real hard time not thinking that it’s just someone trying to be controversial for the lols or to get a reaction (success!). Maybe I’ve too much faith in people, but I refuse to believe that someone could be so ignorant and inconsistent about their own opinions. Every single post is deliberately inflammatory. He’s a wind up. That’s all.

          We lived in Blackpool
When we emergrated to England to London first and because of smog we had to live near the sea as my mother had asthma
          My father never abandoned us
He was destroyed by his family
I never once stated my father abandoned me or my family
          His family did that
          So no cigar BB
          Check my posts
Maybe you are keeping a file on me
          Why the interest
Are you in little Leo verruca’s SCUnit?

          1. Brother Barnabas

no, i am not (keeping a file or in little leo’s SCUnit [an aside: little leo is 6’4″, which isn’t little when you think of it; taller than me, and i’m quite tall])

“So no cigar” was a favourite of charger’s too

          2. Janet, I ate my Avatar

I for one will no longer be engaging with an avatar that who when he isn’t making your brain cry while trying to undo the spaghetti that passes for speech is unable to keep the punches above the belt.
Feed the wolves you want to live etc

        2. Papi

He lives in both Glandore and Mallow at the same time! And, is a joo. Who overshares.
          Funny, ha?

The photo of the protest of cyclists playing possum is pretty effective on the front page ,but when you look at it none are wearing helmets.
Maybe the brains behind this should think when making a point remember wearing a helmet saves lives and when making a point show you are a responsible person who ensures they are adequately protected on the road

    1. edalicious

A lid is not going to be much use to you if you’re rolled over by a HGV with inadequate view from the cab for driving around a modern city, or if someone, driving without due care and attention, ploughs into you at 100kmph on a country road.

        1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

Oh, Gollum HGV is ssssso sssssorry, mastersesses. Gollum HGV loves his precious speedses.
