The heart of St Laurence O’Toole was stolen from Christ Church Cathedral in 2012
Was stealing this old body part
A bold act of Dadaist art?
Now after six years
There’ll be clapping and cheers
As St Laud’s Chapel gets back its heart

It’s like finding out that Tiffany was a medieval name. Laurence O’Toole doesn’t sound like the name of someone who was around in those days to my ears. If you Lorcan-ed it, it’d be even more SoCoDu.
isn’t lorcan a cork name?
another very common medieval name was daisy. and it comes from ‘day’s eye’ (not the flower, bellis perennis). so it’s actually the same name as dawn. mad, eh?
Heh. I went pure Cork there in my head. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
No. Olan is a Cork name, I think. I know quite a few. Fachtna too.
Interesting. The name Dawn always make me think of someone dopey, for some reason.
actually i’ll remove that
Or the old-fashioned “tongue shoved down in over your bottom front teeth” manoeuvre.
The neck of youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Well, the neck of me, leaving it there.
Stick a repeal sticker on it!
(Do not stick a repeal sticker on it please.)
We do not need a repeat of yesterday.

As an atheist I wonder why a Catholic saint (or part of him) is interred in a Protestant church?
Laurence O’Toole, canonized: 1225;
Church of Ireland: began as a reformed church independent of the Catholic Church in 1536;
So St Larry pre-dates the Reformation.
Ask A broadsheet reader – I thought our Protestant brothers left the Papal motheship because of (amongst other reasons) the worshiping of idols and relics? What gives here?
Church of England/Ireland and Papists = paper wall
ah, thank Buddha for that.
AAAArrrrgh. I started looking it up and the first thing I saw was that there’s a relic of Jesus’ foreskin in France.
It’s known as the Holy Prepuce.
but what does it cure ?
Melancholy. Certainly made me snigger.
