That must have been a fun house to grow up in!

No pop-tarts for breakfast I’m willing to bet!

  2. kellma

I am reminded of that scene from the Simpsons when Homer has the merry go around playing in his head. This man has one huge merry go around in his head (and not much else).

    1. TheRealJane

That’s not fair. The whole thing reads like an animal’s fever dream. There are nightmares in his head.

  3. Daisy Chainsaw

I blame the parents. They must have been monsters to have given this country those three excuses for human beings.

  4. filly buster

for the sherlocks parents, that’s zero for three. I’m willing to bet they’re complete boo boos too if all three offspring grew up to be such heartless sillies.

…and if i see him protesting outside abortion clinics if a yes vote passes, and freaking out women trying to get in, I’ll be annoyed

    1. postmanpat

I wont let you do that…..not without these. (hands over a pair of knuckledusters)

      1. Frill the 8th

        yeah there will

The maternities are all togged out already
        Perscription Pads
        new biros
after tea appointments in the day clinics

        1. rotide

Will they be done in maternity hospitals?

I would have though Marie Stopes or similar would move in

    2. Adama

Think there’s another sibling, has devoted to her life to ridding water systems of flouride, all part of a massive conspiracy apparently. Must run in the blood..

      1. Gerard Lovett

Yeah. Ciara I think is her name she’s wall eyed crazy… Lots of rambling videos on YouTube. Down with fluoride, down with homosexuality, down with abortion…

  5. phil

I’m not happy about it , but unfortunately he is right, they will never give up, its would take politicians with a backbone like Roy Jenkins to intact legislation and thereby destroying their careers. I cant think of one politician like that in Ireland. I dont know much about Roy but introducing abortion, removing the death penalty and the decriminalisation of homosexuality , was a death sentence for his career , but very impressive.

And by allowing a free vote some parties have also closed to possibility of being protected by the whip, one scenario, where the whip would have been useful , and its what protected his colleagues

On the plus side, it might finally cause us voters to think hard about who we elect …

  6. Starina

bulldoze the hospital. really. cos fupp women and newborns, they can drop out into the dirt behind a cart like the olde days.

this is the kind of person who will reason bombing a family planning clinic.

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

Imagine if a prochoicer threatened violence and destruction on a hospital, we’d never hear the end of it. All the makings of a spree killer.

  7. Nigel

Wow more proof that both sides really need to tone down the rhetoric and the graphic posters and the lies and distortions!

    1. rotide

In fairness to the lunatic, that’s a text message.

Someone above just posted what amounted to a deaththreat publicly so yeah, both sides do need tone down their rhetoric

      1. Nigel

Don’t think filly buster’s speaking for any portion of the Yes campaign, though it’s not particularly helpful. Could be worse. Could be implying that the 8th is there to control women’s bodily autonomy.

        1. rotide

He’s saying ‘we’ with no context. He could be talking about his family, or the iona institute, or the New World Order with Lizardmen in Black Helicopters

  8. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

    Vermin. Nice.
I think he’s admitting defeat already. So NERRRRR!

  9. rotide

Ignoring for a moment that this guy is clearly a muppet, there is a point to be had here.

If the 8th is repealed, that doesn’t magically enact the govt’s proposed legislation. The nightmare scenario is that it gets held up until and election and we have to go through this all over again with abortion being front and centre in the next GE

      1. rotide

Considering FG laid the groundwork for , and called the referendum, I doubt it.

        1. Brother Barnabas

get the kudos for calling the referendum, yet avoid the inevitable flak that will come with enacting the legislation

          1. Cian

The previous FF-led Governments ignored the problems that the 8th and the X case introduced.
            FG introduced the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act 2013;
FG introduced the 36th amendment that we’ll vote on this month.

      2. Cian

I can totally see Micheal Martin flip-flopping again if the 8th is repealed. And watering down the proposed legislation.

        1. Nigel

I think it’s inevitable that any post-repeal legislation will end up being more restrictive than is now proposed, though I suppose it may depend on how much Yes wins by, if it wins. It’ll certainly end up being more restrictive in practice, due to conscience clauses and Catholic doctrine shaping hospital’s ethos.

    1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

It’s how I’m getting my Mum to vote Yes. Get it out of the Constitution, then we can worry about the legislation.

  10. Frilly Keane

    threatening a Health Care facility
    I dunno
I think he needs to be charged with something

D’ye remember the lad that ran a bulldozer at the gates of Leinster House
Or the lad that emptied a tank of slurry on the AIB

  11. Rapscallion

So the oxygen deprivation caused by having your head up your bottom really can cause brain damage, it appears.

  12. Murtles

It would be a shame if someone reported him to the Gardaí for making a terrorist threat on Social Media to destroy a hospital with innocent people inside. Yep, it’d be a damn shame. *keeps-a-whittlin’

    1. Lilly

Someone call Conor Gallagher of The Irish Times. I believe he has a hotline to the authorities, north and south.

    2. rotide

Texts messages are social media now?

I’ll reiterate, he’s a guy spouting poo poo in a text. Filly Buster is a guy spouting poo poo on a blog (and others have said similar)

What’s the difference? Apart from the fact that the lunatic in the text at least kept it private.

Could you imagine the uproar if someone published a pro choicers text?

      1. mildred st. meadowlark

AHAHAGAHAHA! My evil plan has come to fruition. Once the repeal passes, every man, woman and child shall have an abortion! Abortions for all! Obligatory, of course, and free and when it’s all over there will be a complimentary lollipop.

        1. Papi

I believe the proper exclamation to be ” MWUHAHahahaaaAHA”
If I may be so pedantic.

      2. mildred st. meadowlark

It would have to look something like that to be on a par with Enda up above.

  13. Sheik Yahbouti

I find it increasingly annoying that a tiny cabal of twisted people, typified by this loon Sherlock, have such a strangle hold on this country. I’m aware that this is due to the historic cowardice of politicians, but there’s no excuse for that in the present day. The effin nerve of Binchy, the Sherlocks and the Macmahunas to say to the rest of us that THEY will rule, and nobody else’s opinions count. We are a small country, but not THAT small. Time for change – time to swat all of the small but persistent lobby groups who hold sway in this country.

  14. Lilly

I’m surprised they didn’t call him Sherlock. Sherlock Sherlock has a nice ring to it.

  15. Judith Thurley

They will be carried out in gynae theatres in ordinary hospitals. At least that’s how it was done in Belfast when I worked as a nurse in gynae.
Sherlock is gonna be kept busy with his bulldozer.
