Last night.
Chesterfield, England.
Ireland cruelly eliminated from the final eight of the U17 Euros.

Is the Dutch keeper Koorevaar off his line when he saves from Adam Idah? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/LtfTBBT4dm

Ah here.

Its was a disgrace. Those young lads played their heart out and deserved better than that.
Still they did their country proud and behaved like gentlemen in spite of some real provocation. Fair play to them.
the interview afterwards with the irish captain would gladden the heart,

Certainly does. Cheers for that dav :)
Don’t know about the carding – seemed mad, but in terms of moving off the line there was a clear difference.
Looks like our lad took nearly as many steps as the penalty taker before the ball was kicked
The irish keeper’s left foot did not leave the line until the ball was struck. This is very clear from the replays. Also moving along the line by the keeper before the ball is struck is allowed.
+1
I think we’re watching different videos.
Poor young lad certainly didn’t deserve to be sent off though.
Seems soccer is incapable of sensible refereeing
I think you saw what you wanted to see.
afaik the ref applied the letter of the law in the extreme….but he’s an utter gobsheen for taking that approach to start with atall whether the lad did or didn’t transgress.
Corcoran can hold his head high.
I’d say yer mans fellow refs will now refer to him as “that utter smeghead”
Irish football gets another blast of injustice, due to crazy Referee decisions. Why does it always happen to us?
Perhaps Ireland could ask to be the 33rd Team again….
Arh well lads there is always next year
