great to see that the audit firms that signed off on Carillions dodgy books get the big contact to assist with the break up. Reminds me how they got away with the same sh1te here..

The police are considering arming their officers in rural parts of The UK with side weapons? It’s been a long established part of the job in the RUC, now PSNI. The last time I was arrested, 4 Land Rovers turned up at my house with 16 officers, each strapped with semi-automatic machine guns, together with their side weapons, for their personal protection. I wasn’t even wearing shoes, I’d be keen to say they did protect themselves.

are you saying that it would have kicked off if you’d had your shoes on?

I have this mental image of Shayna in a yellow jumpsuit looking out the window as the four cars pull up, having a quick think, looking down at her bare feet, and calmly pushing the katana back under the pillow.

It wasn’t quite like that, I did argue for shoes, however – it was snowing. Just listened to your link, I get it. Happy Married Life!, or whatever one is supposed to say to a newly wed Clampers Outside.

      That sounds extraordinary

      What were you arrested for?
I presume it was mistaken identity.

My only “surrounded by guns” experience was moons ago, pre GPS days. I went North to buy an exhaust for an old style Mini Cooper, it was for a rally car so exhaust was bigger than normal. On the way home I got a bit turned around and drove smack bang into a loyalist area. Luckily a RUC jeep pulled me up as they probably knew a southern reg car in this area must be lost or in a predicament. All was going well until someone seen the exhaust in the back and shouted “mortar”. Anyway, jocks were ruined, trousers were changed.

Yikes! That can’t have been great? Thank goodness for those types in a kinda bottle green/olive uniform who are totally armed.

It was merely where I lived, shores of Lough Neagh, my family name, they weren’t taking chances, clearly.
    No, it wasn’t mistaken identity.
    The life I lead?

You must have no criminal record though if you do jury duty so there’s a happy ending :)

I think I offended you, that wasn’t my intention. I was attempting to make a light-hearted remark but I can see that it wasn’t appropriate. I apologise.
