‘Ireland At Night’ prints by Maxi

Mark at the Jam Art Factory writes:

These “Ireland At Night” prints in A3 by Dublin designer Maxi are stunning. There’s The George, James Street and Brú Na Bóinne (Newgrange) available at the minute with more to come.

They can all be bought from here or from our two Dublin shops.

To enter, tell us what place in Ireland should Maxi design next as a print and why?

The more obscure answer the better.

Lines MUST close at 2.45pm

Newgrange is a disgrace. A county council job. Its a tourist trap concoction. It almost falls into one of those rich man folly jobs. It bad and when you see the tacky stonework up close it really stands out.

    Anyway, back to bed

The mummies in St. Michan’s Crypt. Let’s show the Egyptians that our mummies are better!

    1. Brother Barnabas

regarded when it was built as an ugly monstrosity

i still haven’t decided whether I like it or not

“just an ad for soap” was my grandfather’s take on it

I love that bridge and the building.
I see stating the obvious is a family trait.
        BOOM!

I also like the building up over the George’s Arcade square. There’s a lot going on there.

        “George’s Arcade square”

even you can’t go around making up your own names for places, sweetie

Ah, you know. The square block around it.
I thought you could read my mind. But no. It is, as many have said, impenetrable. Well, nobody has said that but I like to think of myself as mysterious rather than a dope.

The Wellington Monument in Phoenix Park at night with stars in the sky and city lights on the horizon.
It looks cool in my head and it’d be cool to see that transferred to a poster.
    AND
The Leixlip Spa and/or Aqueduct at Louisa Bridge. The rich history and the feeling of enchantment while walking the madra. Another overlooked heritage site unfortunately.

The Casino at Marino – a fantastic folly, beautiful to look at and an interesting history with the underground tunnels.

the botanic gardens or the chester beatty library
i was up at the gardens a few weeks ago and it’s still the best thing you can do for free on a sunny day.
    weird flowers? check
    terrapins? check
    ice cream? check

    1. Leopold gloom

There’s terrapins in the botanic gardens? How’d I not know this. Where, the duck pond??

      1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

Is the stress on the TERR bit or the RAP bit? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say that word aloud.

the Voyager statue in Laytown, Meath, it’s an amazing view when facing the full moon on a clear night

The Rock of Dunamase in Laois, it’s such an underrated heritage site and one of my favourite places in the world.

  9. Daisy Chainsaw

It’s not obscure, but Hook Lighthouse. You only have to see it in daylight to know why.

  10. blonto

Tintern Abbey in Wexford. It has restored walled gardens, a river, forest and loads of walks.
