he didn’t turn up to court in a hoodie this time…maybe he has more respect for their courts
His suit looks a little tight
Maybe his trousers are making him feel uncomfortable
Please lock him up or at least ban him from America.
not too keen on the old ruaille buaille, no?
Dermot Connolly?
I don’t begrudge the man his success or his money. If I was his age with his funds and cameras pointed at me the whole time I imagine I would do some pretty stupid poo. I sincerely hope this matter can be resolved without him getting a felony conviction.
If memory serves me correctly a felony conviction would make him ineligible to get working visas for the US. This would severely limit his earnings potential.
It’s true, he is as a showman, almost all American led combat sports rely heavily on theatrics, they are much like wrestling in that regard.
But hey don’t hate the player hate the game.
“But hey don’t hate the player hate the game.”
So no matter what kind of behavior he engages in we should simply tolerate it?
I’m not entirely sure how you arrived at that conclusion rp. I read it somewhat differently.
He’s an athlete who makes his living primarily in the US. If he ends up with a felony, it’s a loss of earnings and no more fighting in the US for him. The charisma and showmanship of his ‘Notorious’ persona is a massive part of his success, but it’s also part of that industry.
I think the point is that you shouldn’t hate Conor, but the industry that facilitates and rewards the kind of behaviour that McGregor is so good at.
This was his own personal behavior and it’s a bit of a cop out to try to excuse it simply based of who he is and the type of work he does. If he end’s up with a felony conviction it’ll be because of his own actions, he should be held responsible.
I don’t disagree with you.
As I said above, I think that the line of work he’s in – and the kind of money and attention he receives for it – only encourages this behaviour from him. This kind of carry on wouldn’t be acceptable in any other line of work, and that’s part of it.
But no one (other than Conor himself) put him up to that stunt he pulled, and he needs to face up to that.
rP: no one is asking you to tolerate anything.
But John f, aren’t we supposed to behave whether we’ve money and fame or not?
Without a doubt we are. My point is that this behaviour and recklessness is greatly encouraged by his “the notorious” persona. This showmanship is demanded by fans, in the Floyd Mayweather fight both he and Connor travelled around the world months before the fight staging put down events to sold-out theatres……. it was beyond retarded. It’s the public thriving this nonsense, it could not exist without their financial support.
I’m not defending McGregor or his actions but I do not find it shocking.
Well put john. You’ve said it better than I could.
He should be convicted if he has committed a crime and I believe throwing a hand cart at bus causing injuries is a crime. That’s about it.
A bit like the public buying the tabloids that buys the images that pays the paps that hunt the celebs etc.? But if it wasn’t provided in the first place there wouldn’t BE a fan base.
We’ve seen the best of Mcgregor.Tis downhill from here on.
Imagine paying all that money for your house at the K Club and having to live beside him and his Yo! mates.
it’s always sad when an ex-fighter goes off the rails. Thing is, he still had a good few years left in him if he wanted to keep fighting. But it’s nightclubs and champagne that he’s after.
such a coarse individual
– $100 million
If he is refused a visa that means he might have to return home and pay tax to us
You know him personally?
I know enough. so crude and distasteful
Yes, especially when he takes his clothes off and wears tight briefs.
Pity about the tats mind, makes him look like a hairdresser from Coolock.
Worse.. an angry repressed hairdresser from Coolock..
then he tries to look all respectable by wearing a suit but ends up looking like an even BIGGER knacker!
no class
one of my favourite words comes to mind – uncouth
absolutely
Conor gets a hard on when he hits other men, I have met his sort before.
I like a bita rough myself.
Stop it or I will scrab the face off of you
You use lovely flowery & feminine language.
Harry?
+1000 A despicable individual before and after his notoriety.
you knew him before? did some plumbing work for you?
Ahhh…Mr McGregor….He have very good Kung-Fu….but he lack the discipline!
In fairness, most rich people have no class, or at least seem to resent those who aren’t wealthy. I care as much for mcgregor as he does for me.
I resent you for that statement
If you won a couple of million on the lottery Scottser, would you say the same?
I ask because I’m a believer of manners and decorum regardless of bank balance.
Indeed….True discipline comes from within.
I would say he would
Many of Old money brought a sort of softness and respect of anyone no matter what rung of the ladder they were on
New money brought a sort of ruthlessness and coarseness for many of them
Manners and kindness has no barriers or classes and I suppose its how you are raised at the end of the day
Some say the kinehans are moguls
I say just low life
I would agree with you .
Many just do not have class
There’s no amount of money could make this man anything but the gurrier he is. That’s built in at the soul level.
LEGEND.
If you lift that nose any higher, it is going to roll down your back?
Indeed. Knacker to the core.
I take it that the Nevada gaming board won’t allow him to fight in Las Vegas if he has a criminal record?
lots of boxers over the years have had criminal records – and for far more serious things than chucking a stool at a bus. the problem, I think, is that he won’t get a visa to enter the US if he has a record there.
He’s surrounded himself with a crew of morons, and he acts the moron. They’re probably scoring drugs for him everyday and then there’s the champagne, nightclubs and all of that balls. He seems to be on a downward spiral. He’s a talented fighter, but also a complete embarrassment for Irish people everytime he opens his mouth. He’s responsible for encouraging a generation of young thickos to act the gobsheen, like its totally cool. Then there’s the man buns, the silly walks, his statements about Ireland to yanks. Cringe
