phuckin phil hogan is one of the very worst. he was detrimental to ireland while in gov. and as an EU Commissioner he’s positively nuclear. the man would kill his own mother if the EU wanted him to.

Seems to me that the EU and its officials have been very supportive of Ireland. It’s certainly some contrast with the attitude of the likes of Boris and IDS and the lanky dude with the top hat. If we didn’t have the EU behind us, Ireland would be pure collateral damage in the Brexit fallout.

No-one can bate the Irish for genuflecting and fawning over an unelected drunk whose aim is more power and control over nation states just as populist uprisings in many of them are moving in exactly the opposite direction.
Mind you the Irish political and media establishment did just the same thing when they were rode up the hole during the bank bailout.
I think it must be the centuries of British rule and the generations of kow-towing to the Catholic church which has bred into the Irish psyche this desire to be subservient.
It’s certainly making them the laughing stock of Europe.
And I mean Europe and not the EU and their career politicians with their snouts in the trough like Phil Hogan.
Get up off your knees lads and show a bit of guts, just like you did with the Lisbon Treaty.
      Well,the first one anywahaay !
