You have to laugh at the english, they get a couple of wins against pretty mediocre opposition and they start talking about winning the world cup. Lets see them do something against a decent team and then maybe they can be taken seriously.

I saw that on BBC after the English match. They’ve pretty much decided they are favourites now! I wanted to see their team do well, because they have very good players from the Premier League, which I enjoy, but talk about losing the run of themselves almost instantly! It’s hilarious. This is the kind of pressure that has made their teams freeze in fear at major tournaments, every time. They’ll never learn

      Oh deary me
      Little bit jelly bags
Maybe we could show another documentary about the days Ireland had a decent manager and team under jack Charlton
      Might lift your spirits

      1. jimmy

Yep 1966 and when did the republic qualify recently
Mind you jack Charlton tasted the world cup when he played and won

It has oft been said to me that hot weather makes on horned. Might this explain some of the Headlines/Shenannigans?

Leo using the hammer again on brexit. He’s on the right train but on the wrong track. Again.

    1. GiggidyGoo

He is lacking any solutions himself. If he had any, then you think he’d provide them and end the farce. It’s a case of him sitting back and let May bring the various options, and then allowing his EU puppet masters to discount them. But no sign of a suggestion himself. An empty vessel ( they make a lot of noise)

I see Macron and Merkel have agreed a EU budget. I’m sure that Leo will get his instructions shortly.

      1. mildred st meadowlark

Why should the onus be on him to provide the solution? It’s not like Ireland are the ones who voted to leave the EU. That little mess is all England’s own doing, in their misguided attempt to reclaim ‘The Empire’.

One of the symptoms of foot and mouth is going round in circles millie, we may have an outbreak on bs eh?

        2. jimmy

          They voted out
Out is out and its up to each country to negotiate
There is no solution and our leadership have been a little bit economical with the truth
The EU cannot negotiate for us we must negotiate with the UK and what solution passed by them
It was always going to be like that
Its time varadkar got off his ads and took control
Language like that just defies belief
If the EU had bent a little and did not send Cameron home with a jack boot in his bottom maybe the Brits would of voted to remain

I see the EU mini-summit over the weekend on immigration achieved next to nothing. Merkel says there was “goodwill”. Italian PM says debate moving their way. Spanish PM says nothing concrete agreed and no consequences will follow.
Meanwhile, immigration into Ireland continues unabated with increased pressure on hospitals,GPs,schools, housing.
A chum of mine spent 9 hours in A&E on Saturday waiting to be seen – was told he was lucky as many people often wait 12 hours.
        Third world conditions.

        1. scottser

can you provide evidence of the ethnicities and nationalities of all those patients who were treated for the 9 hours before your chum, please?
you brits have a habit of jumping to rash conclusions on that sort of thing you know.

      What a muppet Leo
Not my job to sort the border between the republic which he is our prime minister and the north of Ireland
      Famous last words
All ratners jewellery is shit Gerald Rainer
Is that an iceberg titanic captain
The baskets of deplorable’s Hillary Clinton
Brexit border not my job Leo Varadkar
So Leo what is your job if not looking after our interests and borders

Can’t wait for the first Brexit / World Cup headlines, beer and circus for the masses.

For those who hate it, take a two week religious retreat now ! It will get worse.

    1. Spud

I’ve got two premium ‘splashzone’ tickets for sale.
Guaranteed to get some of the pontiffs holy water sprinklin’.

    1. Spud

      Delightful!
I even decided to ditch the car and take pubic transport.
Haha! Look at that hilarious typo… except it was intentional – the smell of BO from some people was woeful. Even from the fairer sex! Or perhaps this is some new trend or designer fragrance I’ve missed?
Horrific, and this was early morning when you’d expect to be at your freshest.
Back to the car tomorrow for me to avoid such stinkies!

    2. Ollie Cromwell

      Marvellous morning.
England’s footy, soccer, rugby union and rugby league teams in winning form over the weekend.
Just got to clean up after the party then we’re good to go again.
Happy days and here’s hoping a little bit of Britannia’s sunshine falls on the the little ginger faces with their snub noses up against the window looking in on the fun times.
What a start to the summer.

      1. ReproBertie

What’s the difference between footy and soccer? I didn’t see London winning any peil over the weekend.

        1. Huey Luas on the News

It’s footy when England win. It’s soccer when they don’t (i.e., soccer most of the time).

          James Cordon-style BS.

      2. Catherine costelloe

It is a marvellous morning , Ollie. Harry Kane has a bit of ginger for sure…..his granddad was a Mayo man who emigrated to England for work many years ago and married there.

      3. Otis Blue

How can you lie there and think of England, when you don’t even know who’s in the tram?

        1. scottser

          something every football fan knows
it only takes five fingers to form a fist.

          i do love billy bragg..

          1. Bertie Blenkinsop

His wife used to manage The Selecter, I don’t know why that pleased me but it did…..
