Is there any protests about I dunno, loads of stuff? Will there be protesting allowed? They kept the Queen protesters way back, the Pope protesters probably won’t be let in the county.

5 hour wait to protest then another 5 hour wait to go home? Even longer if its a warm day and auld ones start dropping dead or worse, just have strokes/ heart attacks and the ambulances kind of “have” to get to the hospital , causing more traffic disruption. Screw it. let the pious babies have their bottle.

You could also engage in passive resistence to the event – just don’t go, and ignore it and enjoy your weekend(?)

I like the sunset addition. For safety reasons I assume, but it’s reassuring to visitors that the organisers have thought it all through. No road closures announced yet but given the traffic mess that Ed Sheeran caused I think I’ll bail out o’ town till all de prayin’s done and de holy man gone home. Surprised there’s not a alternative festival.

Wow. Excluding the time to get to the “transport hub” it is almost 10 hours.

    According to de’google it’s a 1hr 3minute walk (5.2km or 3¼ miles) from O’Connell bridge to the Papal cross.

You could walk from Sutton to the Papal cross in the 3hr 15m (or Foxrock, Saggart, Leixlip or Dunboyne)

Maybe the people who they are expecting to go will be slow walkers , and to be fair, walking barefoot , it would take that long…
