I’ve been in exile in London for 3 years – and something weird happened Friday two weeks ago apres Brexit. Not a single joke in the office about potatoes.

I paid it no mind. A full week past – nothing. Not even a “to be sure to be sure”.

Anyone else experiencing this most unsettling phenomenon?

Anyone?

The [Viking-themed] Irish float by Queer Irish Sydney picked up the Best Float Design award at the Mardi Gras awards ceremony last Monday night at the Beresford Hotel, Sydney….

Here‘s a flavour of that float.

Lovely plumage, In fairness.

Have you seen these men?

The duo are thought to have boarded a carriage in South London after attending the England and Ireland clash in Twickenham on February 27.

Officers say one of the men vomited on the floor and a 58-year-old passenger complained.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Garden said: “The victim was attacked after taking issue with one of the men who was vomiting on the carriage floor…I think the men in the images we are issuing today will be able to help with our investigation. Please tell us who they are?”

I’m over in Toronto with half the country and thought you might like an emigrant success story. My girlfriend works for an App start-up called MyKrd that launched a global logo design contest. I posted the contest on a Facebook group for Irish in Toronto, and it was won yesterday by Irishman Tom Bourke (I believe he also designed a Le Cool Dublin cover back in the day). Anyway, yesterday he was handed a giant cheque for 10,000 Canuckian Dollars. It’s tough getting going abroad by it can be done!

Fair ply, in frness.

Photographer Katie Hennessy writes:

I was hoping your readers might enjoy this photo series [link below] based on the concept of home, something I started exploring when living in Japan. I began asking expat friends what their sense of home was when living abroad, I wanted to know how they kept themselves grounded..

I’m now looking to photograph people who have made Ireland their home. There’s a contact on the website [link below] if interested!

A Irish man is in an induced coma and two other men have been charged following a brawl outside a pub in Bondi Junction.

Jason Cierans (above), 29, was found unconscious and bleeding from the mouth just after 1am on Saturday when police were called to the Tea Gardens Hotel on Bronte Street following reports of a brawl.

He sustained serious head injuries and has been placed in an induced coma at St Vincent’s Hospital, where he remained in a critical but stable condition on Saturday night.

Seven News reported Mr Cierans crossed the road and was attacked without warning in front of a 7/11 convenience store.

“I don’t know, my friend just walked and this guy punched him – and that’s it,” a witness told reporters at the scene.
