One of three frames of a snowy owl in majestic flight captured on January 3rd by a traffic camera on Highway 40 in Montreal, Canada.
The story originally ran in Haaretz, where the framing wasn’t quite so odious.
A shot taken at the World Bird Sanctuary in Missouri by photographer Lisa Kee, who swears it’s not ‘shopped. Sez she:
‘Minerva’ was turning her head from side to side quite intrigued with the noise from my camera and then just flipped it upside down. I have watched birds of prey turn their heads all different ways but to see one completely upside down like this was a first. I had to double check my camera to see it actually happened.
God damn but that’s one lovely owl.
An eagle owl coming in for the seize at 1000 frames per second. Noble.
