Mr [Sean] FitzPatrick arrived yesterday and after quickly changing in his room, emerged from the hotel wearing a green Ireland jersey and a green beret. He asked to be left alone and attempted to cover his face with a rainjacket. He was relaxing in the company of a number of others, including PJ Mara [above], the former government press secretary and adviser to ex-Taoiseach Charles Haughey.
Under the watchful glare of PJ Mara, Vincent Browne does the journalism thing with Bertie.
“Might I remind PJ, 20 years ago we attempted to press the then leader of Fianna Fail [Charles Haughey] on his financial affairs and we we were obstructed from doing so. We were obstructed again in 1988 and I hope Fianna Fail has changed and we won’t be obstructed from doing so again.”
