For more than 40 years, Eamonn Farrell’s photographic agency has captured on camera some of the most famous and era-defining images of Irish life.
Off The Wall Irish Photos is a new, curated selection from the hundreds of thousands of photographs in the Photocall Ireland/RollingNews archive stretching back to 1980.
Eamonn says:
“This is not a site offering pretty up to date images of either personalities, celebrities or locations. There are hundreds of such sites around and we do not and could not wish to compete with them.
.“We have painstakingly curated a selection, which we feel will appeal to people either for a historical or Irish heritage reason, an association with the event or persons involved or an appreciation of the photographic aesthetic of the image.
“Many of the news images of people and events either appeared the next day in print or did not appear at all, never to be seen again, unless perhaps sourced at someone’s death or an event’s anniversary. They are unique in this sense.”
