I remember one cold winter’s month having to get the bus to college, and the young man in me got the cockles of his various bits warm to a lovely JWT advert in the bus shelter. But the very cute lady’s posterior was deemed offensive in the Ireland of the 1980s. And so JWT were told to cover it up. And they did, with a strategically placed sticker saying ‘Get your seat to the sun;’
Wasn’t that Budget..?
maybe. but it was a cute butt :-)
Was definitely Budget; back in Gillian Bowler’s day. JWT had considerable pilgrimage business, Lourdes etc, so they were more wholesome.
I remember the radio jingle. Join the JW tea set, or so I thought.
Easy to spot the JWT holiday-makers in the Arrivals Hall at Dublin Airport; sombreros, brown Mallorcan leather bags…with skin to match. People smothered themselves in cooking oil to get the tan.
