Anna writes:

I’m trying to help a friend with his citizenship application. He submitted it months ago but has heard nothing back. We tried to submit a parliamentary question about it but were advised to email the INIS [Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service] instead.

But then the INIS on its website says

“The following divisions of INIS can only be contacted by letter or telephone helpline as they do not operate an email service…”  (via gov.ie)

The minister says in dozens of answers to parliamentary questions on applications for naturalisation:

“Queries in relation to the status of individual Immigration cases may be made directly to the INIS by e-mail using the Oireachtas mail facility which has been specifically established for this purpose. This service enables up-to-date information on such cases to be obtained without the need to seek this information by way ….” (via oireachtas.ie)
