47ronin

What you may need to know

1. Keanu Reeves knows kung-fu. But sure you knew that already.

2. 47 Ronin has had a rather troubled production history. It’s coming out a year later than originally intended.

3. Hollywood is going out of its way to bag that Eastern audience. It’s the fastest growing movie market in the world.

4. Truth be told, we have no idea what’s going on here. That said, neither does Keanu, who looks like he stopped by en route to do his laundry.

5. Sad Keanu no more!

6. This is not to be confused with the other chop-socky flick Keanu’s got coming out

7. We went to see The Wolverine (2013) over the weekend. Great post-credits scene.

Release Date: Christmas

Anna Rodgers writes:

I wonder if you might share our video. This year’s GAZE International LGBT Film Festival opens with a feature film called “Animals”, about a bisexual teenager and his relationship with an imaginary walking, talking teddy bear. Reminiscent of Donnie Darko and Elephant (but not Ted!).

Inspired by this film and to celebrate opening night, we made a short documentary with members of the LGBT community about their own bears, and the memories they represent. If anyone out there just can’t quite let go of their childhood toys or feels guilty about a teddy left alone in the attic, this might interest them.

Tickets for Animals available here.

We have done a trawl of what schools were looking for staff through JobBridge. The list [above ] turned out to be much longer than we thought it would be.

These are for positions where there is virtually zero chance of a full time position at the end of the ‘internship’due to government cap on numbers and continuing cutting of the grants paid to schools.
The schools advertising are de facto participating in the scheme, in our view, which is prohibited by an INTO directive of December 12th 2011 which states “The CEC directs members not to participate in the JobBridge National Internship Scheme.”

We understand that schools justifiably feel under severe pressure due to government cutbacks in staffing and resources but two wrongs don’t make a right.
