Say When Responsibly

From left: light drinking Irish actress Caroline Morahan; telly’s John Healy (a once boozy now sober heart transplant recipient) and non-drinking Frank ‘DRINK!’ Kelly.

The launch today of the Irish Heart Foundation’s annual September Heart Month campaign urging tipplers to remember “your heart can’t drink like you can”.

And to know WHEN to say when before the early houses open and all the craziness sets in.

A downloadable magazine on healthier boozing is available here.

Unless Ms Morahan has had a heart transplant, you need a comma after “recipient”.

Not absolutely necessary. As the start of the sentence has a colon, you use a semi-colon to separate list items until the last, which is separated by ‘and’. However, it would be clearer if the second semi-colon was used there.

Unless I’m much mistaken, that’s the Brian Boru in Phisbrough, maybe picked because of it’s vicinity to the COE for heart care, the Mater, where it’s not that unusual at all to see a whole rake of doctors nurses and other hospital staff getting totally sh!t faced.

A mark of quality to be sure. Between that and littlewoods it won’t be long until Hollywood comes calling.

That’s a worthwhile campaign in fairness and delivered in a light-hearted way. Many’s a good night spoiled from the ‘line ’em up at last orders’ tactic.
