Some current Greyhound employees leave the High Court by bus after facing off with supporters of striking Greyhound workers.
Greyhound took nine workers and [Dublin City] councillor Gino Kelly to court for contempt after they allegedly ignored an injunction not to block Greyhound trucks. The workers were locked out after they refused to accept a 35 per cent wage cut in June.
The case was adjourned for a week

Clearly the office staff are not being made to take the kind of cuts the waste collectors are. Typical consequence of division of labour and skills, the old us and them culture which is encouraged in companies to create in-fighting among staff and weakening their collective power to seek fair conditions and wages.
Greyhound is a test case which every other giddy capitalist business owner with a large unskilled workforce is watching. Rather than improve service or make savings in management costs, they will seek to slash the wages of workers who are easily replaced.
It’s easy to cut wages and ignore the consequences of it for others. It’s easy…. if you’re a w****r.
Most of the other waste companies employ agency staff at minimum wage, no rights, no entitlements, no job tomorrow if it suits them. Up the greyhound workers!!

Its a pretty low point when people allow themselves to be dragged into a counter protest against their colleagues who are involved in justifable industrial action.
The “Right to Work” posters held by the employees in suits is reminiscent of the fact that the only right that a slave in the Roman Empire had was a “right to work”.
Personally if I want to protest my rights as a worker, it would be the “Right to a living wage” and a “Right to a reasonable quality of life”, not simply the Roman Slaves “right to work”.
