Taoiseach Enda Kenny was in a Regans Bar in Roscommon town last night, where he was met by protesters.

you’ve got to ask yourself why oh why does he all of a sudden start turning up at envelope openings and placing himself into obvious situations of potential conflict like this
is he that fckd at this stage that his spinmeisters are hoping for a bottom of the barrel reactionary incident like someone throwing a punch or even worse?
Kenny you’re just pathetic please stop now, if you’re genuine just go on the TV and explain what you’re up to and tell the waffle-free truth else just fck off back to your other job
Well said, martco. They are all over the place. Looking for some poor soul who’shad enough to see red and react violently. And they can say to the people “Look at what your protesting with”. They will try anything at this stage to save Irish Gravy and their paymasters. Peaceful all the way and we can win this.
*who’s had
..what martco said…
Yeah that’s something I don’t understand, he’s essentially at the precipice of his political career and he hasn’t done a state of nation style address to the people.
The only reason I can think of why he won’t do it is because he’ll make a complete and utter balls up out of it.
It’s surprising he doesn’t try to seize the initiative alright. Does he think that an address like that would be an admission that the government is in crisis?
I suspect they are hoping that Kelly’s concessions and some opportune bad weather will deter most of the marchers in December. If only half as many turn up as last time, it’s easy to portray that as agreement, or at least moving in the right direction.
After saying that the minimum wage is 35k he’s probably realised he’s better off not to talk at all…
Having it on a Wednesday is a bit of an own goal.
no peace without justice, no free cordial for inda’s driver either
Ah come on. We disagree on the larger issues, but can’t we at least have an entente cordial?
Ha, v good
Amazing. Haha.
Enda is nice as a person tho….
Nice. Gawd you’re cruel.
That should be sufficient as a leader, so. I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on everything. Thanks for letting us know.
There is a definite sense of anti-establishment gidiness on the loose alright but where will it end? We have no one credible offering a vision for how society could be organised differently with the limited resources we have as far as I can see. It is a people’s movement with no leaders.
how far could ye j
Curious how there haven’t been any pro- Enda comments here yet… the FG social media team don’t work Saturdays, I suppose.
Huh. True dat
If you attack everyone who says something vaguely pro-government, you won’t deter the paid ones (if such creatures exist) but you’ll drive everyone else away. That just makes the comments less representative and more circle-jerkular.
I’m not attacking anyone. Merely pointing out that there appears to be far, far less pro-government comments today. And today is a Saturday, a day that tends to be a day off for paid lackey 9-5ers.
Not all that dedicated to the job are they, bunch of slackers.
Ah, I get you. Do you really think people are paid to come on here? If I was their boss I’d be very unimpressed with them taking the weekend off.
I think the truth is that there are few people of every stripe here at the weekends.
Now he’s having a go at the badgers.
Do I think FG have a social media team tasked with posting comments, responses, arguments etc on boards, the journal, broadsheet etc? Yes. I know for a fact they do.
You guys have yet to put up a convincing argument against Enda Kenny. History will judge him well. He’s done far better than any other taoiseach in recent memory. Funny how Haughey and Ahern were feted by people when they went about their business. Even Cowen, the financial architect of our insolvency, is left alone when in public. The Irish electorate are a rotten bunch.
Are you on the wind up? Genuinely. History will never be kind to him. He will forever be tarnished by incompetency. He’ll be remembered as the Taoiseach who failed time and time again.
Failed in what way? I want numbers and facts not vague personal bias.
How would you rank the last six or so? In the last 25 years we’ve had Haughey, Bruton, Reynolds, Ahern, Cowen and Kenny.
That may look like a rock and five hard places, or a punch in the face and five kicks in the crotch, but I’d be curious all the same.
Kenny number one based on the circumstances and econmic performance. He inherited a country under control of the IMF. Now the competition isn’t great at all and I wouldn’t be a fan of him but he’s well ahead of the FF leaders.
It’s a parade of horrors, isn’t it? But it’s a mirror of the electorate too. That seems to be what we wanted.
Are getting double time for a Saturday Tommy?
Remember the “Mongrel Foxes” outburst by Cosgrove
Well, we have the real version now with the “Devious Feral Fox”
being now chased by the populace… “Caeusescu” Kenny
and “Elena” Burton days in power are over….let no one leave
a finger on them, you will remove them and a lot more by taking
a step to march in Dublin on Dec 10th…and reminding yourself,
in not asking what they can do….but what you can do for yourself
What a mind you have. The voice of the revolution.
A bit late getting to work today, were you Tommy, or was the wifi down in Mount Street?
Crazy idea, maybe it one of the 30% that would vote FG. We can’t all be on their books.
AFAIC. The only real measure of where Fine Gawk really are in the National Poll weigh in is their % take in the last Presidential.
If the likes of Dana can bate a long term blue shirt t’the bone Gay Mitchell …..
Muchael D’s vote that day was a popular personality attraction. Not a party vote. Combine the % take of Martin King of the North and the half blind Dragon, and you’ll have a better idea of the anti government’s current weight.
In my opinion.
Maybe keep your opinion to yourself. It’s hard to come up with a worse metric for party support than a presidential election from three years ago.
I like to think it is the perfect measure of Fine Gall
And until a judge tells me otherwise
I’ll say what I like
When I like
The owner of the pub says on RTE Radio the “get out of our pub” was aimed AT the protesters, not at Enda.
the comment section on here Is just a left wing version of Fox news right wing echo chamber. it’s the same people from same background and same view point all the time.
What background would that be?
I wound say middle class, college educated
You can’t possibly know their backgrounds. But there is obviously the same drive to conformity that comment sites usually experience, and this one does skew anti-authority on most things.
Heard that too. Slightly disappointing.
People who hang out in bars are assholes anyway.
Lol, I tend to agree.
Not just in bars…
Next on the playlist…
“Owwar love was on da wing ( Shinn Fane!)
We had dreeeams an songs ta sing (OI OR AY)”
Tough crowd.
Good ole Edna. Fancy expecting a good reception in Roscommon? I thought I noticed his loathsome quisling side kick Frank Feighan in the background.
