Never Mind The Toy Show

Shane Ross

There’s a populist right wing party to launch.

Melanie writes:

This week on The Saturday Night Show It-girl and model Daisy Lowe will join Brendan to talk fashion, modelling and baking. Independent TD Shane Ross will be in studio to discuss whether or not he will lead a new party into Government. Irish actress and television host Caroline Morahan will drop by to talk about life in LA and her upcoming role in ‘She Stoops to Conquer’ in The Abbey Theatre. Plus Síle Seoige and a host of Irish stars will perform their charity single ‘Maybe this Christmas’.

I would. Look at her that is. Daisy Lowe, now that I know who she is, would also get looked , in a friendly, non-judgemental manner.

Or Shane “look at me” Ross. I wonder if any party he leads will take a strong position on the proposals to criminalise the purchase of sex.

I’d rather burn me undercarriage off with a few zip firelighters than subject meself to that.

C’mon Bodger FFS. How com “Maybe this Christmas” – hasn’t been featured on Broadsheet? After all its for charity and you’re pretty handy with the moustache dung. How about some support for local artistes, doing their bit to fight ebola?

So, in summary, Shane Ross will be listening to Shane Ross talk about Shane Ross

    Status quo maintained

And one Sunday Independent journalist interviews another. Every week more and more the Sindo on TV.

Good Luck to Shane – Its a pity Democracy Now didn’t happen last time, but never too late.
Hope he is discerning in who he brings with him.

Cos what we need is another right wing party,
seen as we already have soft right (Lab, FF), right or christain democrat (FG), social nationalist (SF)
what we need is a liberal ethics based party, ETHICS

I’d be genuinely interested in a non-corporatist right wing party.

The problem with the other 2,342 existing right wing parties is that they all bend the knee to banks and multi-nationals.

Don’t want to pay tax, m’lud? You don’t have to if you don’t want to.

Want the Irish public to pay off the failed gambles of foreign speculators? Why yes sirree Bob.

Fine Gael said they’d burn the bondholders and take a wizz in the pockets of Brussels bureaucrats. When push come to shove, they took exactly the same path of craven least resistance that Fianna Fail did. They created quangos like Fianna Fall did. They stuffed them full of their mates just like Fianna Fail did. The Shinners would be all of the above, on steroids.

So Shane and the chaps are going to stand up to the people they rub shoulders with of a lunchtime in Dobbins? They’re going to let failing banks fail to be replaced by grown-up banks in the future? They’re going to cull quangos, not install their cronies and keep the pimp hand strong against the EU?

Colour me ever so, ever so sceptical.
