The Story House (above) and Colligan Falls, Dungarvan, Co Waterford (Top)
The Story House is a small, very cosy Irish, non-profit that aims to provide “real support for developing writers” of all ages .
The workshop is inspired by and has been given the thumb up from The Arvon Foundation –

Somehow I don’t tink I’d be yere preferred customer
Pretty sure owning a mac and sitting in Starbucks has a similar effect.
Heh. ‘Excuse me, do you mind? I’m trying not to be noticed here.’
Thanks BS for posting, small typo, my bad… the foundation name is Arvon (not Avon, sorry).
Thanks for this guys, it’s much appreciated – only two more spots to fill for our short fiction course link here… http://www.thestoryhouseireland.org/#!courses/c62k
I couldnt imagine spending 5 Days With Julian gough would be much Crack. You might want to jump into the river.
Forget forking out 595 Euros and take the following advice:
Show rather than tell
Lay off the adjectives
Don’t confuse a thesaurus with literary prowess. We live in the age of the internet.
Beards, self publication and quill in hand does not translate as ” I am a writer”.
Good luck with it, looks like an attractive mix of location (yeah, JK Rowling might have penned the first Potter books in a coffee shop, but she was in olde Edinburgh which oozes deep navy magic and stars) and support. And €595 for full board and one-to-one support looks like a steal. Best wishes to you all.
Olde Edinburgh only oozes twee in tweed.
