Brian O’Donnell and Blaise O’Donnell (Top) and Mary Patricia O’Donnell at the Four Courts today

Meanwhile, at the Court of Appeal…

During proceedings today Mr [Brian] O’Donnell highlighted the media coverage of the case.
He said the eviction notice at Gorse Hill was “hammered into the front gate in front of the worlds media”.
He added that there were 64 reporters and 3 satellite trucks outside Gorse Hill when the court served the eviction notice.
Ms Justice Finlay Geoghegan earlier told the court that Mr O’Donnell’s wife Mary Patricia must come to court to express her agreement in going ahead with the appeal…

      So did I.
Maybe we don’t have enough Blaises in our social circles.
I only know people that are named after saints.

He’s the patron saint of ailments of the throat. There’s still a fine tradition in parts of Ireland of getting your throat blessed on St Blaises day – Feb 3rd.

I wonder if the money they’re spending on dragging this out (as only rich people can do) so long, is equal to or less than the price of renting that house for the extra time they’ve won?

Perhaps they should have a word with their buddies in the New Land League about the publicity? they were the ones who started it!

glad to see all these vermin being dragged through the courts like the scumbags they are.

I came here to post that… I wouldn’t mess with yer one driving that car. Looks like she’ll run you down. Still… Mr Revenue should be on to that!

There’s really not much you like is there? All that negativity can’t be good for you.

I wonder how rich any of these people ever really were when their loans were put against their current account balance…

I’d say at most there was 20 jounalists and reporters there when the eviction notice was posted and only the RTE sat van was there.

The Blaises aren’t living there any more. That’s an important point. The only people living there are the O’Donnell parents, Brian and Mary Patricia. And they’re bankrupt. So, unless Bank of Ireland manage to ringfence the lost rent, then the O’Donnells are truly living rent free because any rent due on the property to Bank of Ireland will presumably be just another debt owed by the O’Donnell parents that gets washed in the bankruptcy.

I think they’ll be out by 6pm today. Unbelievable that it’s dragged on for so long.
