If the women beat Scotland tomorrow, they have the Triple Crown, but if they beat them by [min] 27 points, we have another Six Nations cup – c’mon ladies!

I don’t mind the lasses playing Z there is at least the illusion of sport and less of the preposterous hype

Well, cub, the women have secured the 6 Nations Championship for the second year in a row, and the Triple Crown; they played brilliantly [3 -73], and if you didn’t see it, it’s a pity, they have some class players and we should be proud – what a wonderful weekend for Irish rugby!

Can anyone explain the logic the Sunday Times are using to claim the the church is only just now getting involved in the marriage equality ‘row’?
I wondered that too. Although maybe it’s made clear in the article.
All the good ones fly south for winter
“That’s it!” Said bishop Mcfrock. “The ****ing gloves are coming off” – from article.

Don’t know about the Sunday Times story but last Friday I picked up in my local church entrance a blue-covered 14-page booklet entitled “there’s far more to marriage than just a word” It says on the back “this educational [sic] leaflet was kindly sponsored by Family&Life” with an email address centreforpublicpolicy@familyandlife.org
The mis/disinformation in the booklet is truly astounding even misinterpreting Art 16 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights claiming ONLY a man and a woman “have the right to marry and to found a family”; it goes on to claim children do best in a marriage with a mother and father, that 26% of gay people in the UK oppose marriage equality and that marriage equality will mean bakers can be prosecuted for refusing to ice a cake with a slogan supporting marriage equality.
Am not a regular Mass goer myself, but I hear from those who are, the whole subject has been muted in sermons.
And lastly, I have noticed that the language being used in this debate is polarising. In the same way as you have pro-life, anti-abortion, pro-choice, pro-abortion, you have the Catholic church going for “same sex marriage” with the 80% majority going for “marriage equality”. Funny really, about 30 years ago, the Catholic church would have gone red-faced from using the term “sex”, and would have been uncomfortable with “gender”. “Sex” is still a dirty word in the Catholic church, which might explain why they’re characterising the debate in this way.
