Last night.

Palestinians outside the GPO, O’Connell Street, Dublin gather in solidarity with Palestinians being attacked in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria, which has been overrun by ISIS fighters.

From top: Vice Chair of IPSC [Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign] Fatin Al Tamimi from Palestine; Nidal Afana, Baraha Afana, Abudllah Afana and Muna Khander and Mohammad Afana; Akef Odwan (left) and Anas Khaled.

…just when you thought the plight of Palestians could not get any worse, a newly emboldened Netanyahu gets re-elected on a promise of more of the same and his best friend in the US announces she intends to run for president.

…correct of course…this comment should have gone with previous post on Hilary Clinton.
However, it’s not totally out of place. I see the banners above blame the existence of Yarmouk on Israeli apartheid and ethnic-cleansing. The poor Palestinians are caught between a rock and a hard place as usual – the murderous Assad regime on one side and the barbaric ISIS on the other. It’s a small consolation that neither of these groups have so far indiscriminately killed and mutilated hundreds of innocent Palestinian children.

Your right, all of the worlds problems are caused by Israel and the Jews. Where have I heard that before?

Where are the usual protestors ? The SWP, SF, the trade unions ? No Jews no news I suppose.

So ISIS invades a Damascus neighbourhood and starts beheading locals and it is Israel’s fault? Jaysis, a Jew can’t get a break

Well the US, Britain, France and Israel are all backing jihadi groups in Syria (as are their regional allies Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Turkey, Jordan etc..). The Israelis are cooperating with Al Nusra (or Al Qaeda as you may know them). The saudis and Qataris backed ISIS. It’s widely reported across international press including Israeli press as well before you come back with your tin foil hat conspiracy theory line for the mindless and gullible. Basically, the US, its western allies and the Sunni Gulf States want Syria and don’t care how many Syrians or others have to die for them to get control of it. Oil and gas pipelines through Syria to Europe is basically what it’s all about.
