Police in Glasgow said the man seen talking to Cork-born student Karen Buckley was found last night. Karen is a student at Glasgow Caledonian University and lives in a flat share in Hill Street, Garnethill, Glasgow.
After having drinks in the flat on Saturday, Karen and her friends went to Sanctuary nightclub in Dumbarton Road, Partick, arriving at 11.45pm. At 1am Karen told friends that she was going to the toilet, but didn’t return. Karen did not pick up her jacket. She was then seen on CCTV outside on Dumbarton Road talking to the man now being questioned.

Title of this post is a bit glib, no?
Not really, they aren’t making a joke of it
It was ‘Meanwhile, in Glasgow’
Ah, I stand corrected!
Curious incident, the Scottish police said she “met” the burly man outside the club (and if “met” means the same as it does here, she didn’t meet him in the club), strange she’d leave her jacket inside. Family has flown over from Cork. Must be excruciating for them waiting. Hope she’s found safe and well, there’ve been plenty of incidents when young people disappear and are later found safe and well.
Reports say she was seen talking to him outside the club on CCTV, presumably when she left her friends to go to the toilet. She then was then seen leaving and walking in the direction opposite the one she would normally take home.
Maybe she went outside for a smoke, you may not have needed your jacket for that …
Soundings, the Police wouldn’t use a word in a colloquial manner like your disrespectful comment suggests.
+1
Soundings, we clearly move in different circles. Met means just that where I hang out. ‘I met the postman on the way to the shop.’
