What you may need to know.
1. Steve Coogan has been trying to break the US for years. He’ll get there eventually. It’s all about TV over there these days.
2. When the movie roles he wanted weren’t coming, he wrote one for himself, and got an Oscar nomination – for screenplay.
3. Happyish was originally supposed to star Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who had already shot the pilot before he died.
4. Once In A Lifetime? Seriously?
5. Partridge aside, he’s never better than when playing himself.
6. Broadsheet Prognosis: This feels like a mid-naughties life-crisis movie, possibly starring Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore.
Release date: April 26 (Showtime)

When’s ‘ADD LINK’ out?
Is that like, em, The Missing Link sequel ?
I’ll get me coat.
are you suggesting David Byrne isn’t cool anymore? David Byrne could record the Barney theme song and still pull it off in my view. Once in a lifetime may be an obvious choice but it’s still a great song and perfectly suited to the Steve Coogan character – I’m his character’s age as you may have guessed. i think this is defo worth a look.
Saw Mr Byrne playing his new stuff last year/ year before…… I woz bored senseless, but… I love, love, love his old stuff with the Heads :(
But he is an artist, his work changes constantly and doesn’t follow the art scene, thats what makes him so awesome even if he is boring every once and a while.
…I can live with that, it was all brass and backing vocals when I saw him, think it was the Picnic I saw him.
To be fair, Stop Making Sense is only album I still play :)
I just enjoy the fact that he is still out there just being weird.
Down and out in Beverly Hills was the first time that track was used as a theme where the male lead was a seemingly unfulfilled middle-aged bloke looking for answers…. This time it’s just without the homelessness.
Love that song and love that band. Trailer has a lot of promise…. I despise social media too.
I’ve seen a few episodes. Quite good – I’d recommend a watch. You can definitely tell it’s from the same network that made Nurse Jackie.
Watching Coogan in the role, it’s hard to imagine how Hoffman would have fit.
(But he would because he was fantastic in everything)
complaining about social media how radical and hilarious
