Yip, pretty stupid from Max. A UK election and he’s whinging about the republic being left out of the map. Plus if it was to be included, they’d have to scale the map down further.

D’ye reckon France are so feckin insecure when they see France isn’t included in a map of the UK. FFS

My sentiments exactly. If we were included in it there’d be outrage too. Grow up guys. We’re big boys now.

I bet Dun Lerrrrawwh – Rawwwthdown would like to have been included. They act like they’re part of the UK with their foreign games and loving the royals. Even though their grandparents would be turning in their graves at the state of them.

I know right cus the most popular sport in Ireland isn’t a foreign game either, and the vast majority of people don’t support foreign teams either……….

Speaking of which, Mani, I won’t be able to make it tomorrow. Trust you and the boys play a blinder. And looking forward to the youtube upload.

Considering you got sinbinned the last time for ‘Inappropriate Cuppage’, it’s probably for the best.

You have a serious hard-on for mocking a supposed social group that only exists in your mind. Countless posts over weeks. months – endless hours thinking of new ways to say “I think all people in South Dublin are the same, and that same is snobby and rich and disloyal to the country and generally unsound”. Here’s an idea for you: get off the internet, find a new constructive hobby, and in your spare moments think about how you’ve been a consistent tool for months, venting uninformed tripe into the void of indifference that is a website like Broadsheet on an entity that is the internet.

I reckon newsagents in good country areas sell more Hello magazines per person (packed to the brimful with photographs of the British Royal family) than is the case in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown.

Seriously some people just want to be offended sometimes, its in the name FFS “electoral map of Great Britain and Northern Ireland” last time i checked the republic wasn’t part of that, they left out the Northwest part of France as well, should we let them know?

  3. Ultach

Why is the Isle of Man included? Anyway, the map isn’t entirely Éire-dodging. The north east six counties of Éire are clearly visible. You know, the ones that are in the UK. The rest of Éire split off, remember?

“Northern Ireland” itself is a gerrymander.

I want to know why the UK Government didn’t suggest partitioning Scotland, after the referendum. Surely, they could gerrymander a new statelet to suit their ends. The Tories might have decided to keep the bits that would elect a few Tory MPs.

      1. ahyeah

afaik = I haven’t got a fupping clue what I’m on about, but I’ll say it anyway?

      2. Ultach

The Isle of Man isn’t in the UK. It is a British island and citizenship on the island is governed by British law so holders of a Manx passport are British citizens. However, while the island is as much a part of Britain as the Isle of Wight, Anglesey or Skye, it’s not part of the UK or indeed the EU, so technically shouldn’t appear on a map of the UK any more than the Republic of Ireland, France or Holland. Pedantic, I know, and not one of my better chat up lines, but accurate.

As good as Harry Enfield’s Mr. Cholmondley Warner (for which see Youtube)
“Mistah Jean Ew Kellay” – lavvleigh.

Interesting to see the Gardaí still wearing their Metropolitan uniforms and ‘Bobby’ helmets.

Yes, it was so that the UK General Election map would not include Ireland. Once the last big gets taken off that map, it will be mission accomplished.

It looks like they will be dropping the Scottish bit, first.

  5. Owen

Each year a different party has the responsibility to drawing the electoral map. This year it was UKIP. True story.

One of the dumbest things I’ve seen on her.

    Until Clampers’ inevitable post…
