Representatives of Dublin-based events management company Neon Agency and Dutch audiovisual company NuFormer – who specialise in 3D video mapping – took part in a site visit at the GPO in Dublin to formalise plans for the event.

Spectacular 3D visual projection plans for GPO on Rising centenary (An Phoblacht)

Shurlookit sez:

Nice to see Sinn Féin hiring a Dutch projection company for 1916 GPO memorial.. Shop local..

Are you complaining that Sinn Féin aren’t nationalist enough?

Or are you saying that you should hire an Irish company even if there’s better/cheaper alternatives elsewhere?

The Netherlands is in Europe. Like we are. Hence local. Or would you rather all tenders be restricted to within townland boundaries and no blowins need apply?

Sure doesn’t PaddyJoe in the parish over not have a projector the school wasn’t using? He’d even have the auld acetates too, just scrape off the modh coinniollach text and write your own!

I’m already turned off the whole 1916 thing. Individual political parties running rival events, seeing who’s more patriotic – really edifying. Didn’t everyone involved in 1916 eventually leave Sinn Fein for one of the two twin newer parties it spawned anyway?

Give me a big lamp and I can do shadow puppets for ya.

Although I think it would be funny if the Dutch company did everything in predominantly orange.

Sinn Fein are pretty much the party with the least historic claim to the rising. Presumably looking to compensate for that now?

Is this the Shinner recruitment party or will this be an “official” commemoration without political party banners, posters, flags or any of that political party hi-jacking nonsense… anyone know?

The company I work for designs and does pixel mapping. Would have been nice to even tender for the work.

It’s not that hard there are only a few companies in Ireland that do this sort of thing. It’s not hard to pick up the phone and go hey guys we are doing this if you would like to tender send us through some examples of your work and some proposals of what you’d do. It’s not that hard to do.

  5. Supercrazyprices

Best practise is to tender on a European level.

Is this little undercover FGer suggesting buying Irish no matter what?
