Very happy to hear this. Next just skirt the wusses and divers and we’ll be back to the golden days.

I’ve forgiven Sepp everything for that time he laughed in John Delaney and our entire nation’s face for asking to be the 33rd team ;)

ah yes, the pathetic epitaph to terry henry’s handball. i haven’t been able to look at a cabernet sauvignon since.. :(

I hope the investigation into the 2022 world cup being awarded to Qatar doesn’t stop it going ahead. That would be such a waste of 62 dead construction workers for each game played.

apparently the russians are rolling out a rehabilative works programme for their prisoners to work on the world cup stadiums. absolutely nothing to do with keeping down labour costs, oh no.

      Might be a little optimistic.

Blatter is a teflon piece of poo, wouldn’t be surprised if the fallout from this leaves him unscathed.

We’re a long way off ‘it is now’, but this makes it a little bit closer.

No surprises here. Apart from the Olympic Council it’s the most corrupt sports organisation in the world.

      Well…. kinda.

The game itself is probably better than it’s ever been with changes like attacking players being allowed to play without being butchered down, no back-pass, goalline technology, the offside rule favouring the attacker, goalkeepers no longer allowed to hang on to the ball for an age a la Dino Zoff ’82 etc. it’s really just the corruption that’s worse than ever in my opinion.

FIFA is a joke. Sepp Blatter is a corrupt, fraud of a man. Things HAVE to change soon for the good of the game.

  5. John Delaney's tie

FIFA lost it’s credibility a long time ago, good to see Jack Warner back in the dock, could be a FBI shot across the bow over Putin’s antics in Ukraine…

You’re a hurling fan I’ll wager, they’re usually sanctimonious aul whores in my experience.

I admire hurling sure, fantastic skills and often bordering on art…. but hardly a “fan” as you mean it.
