Let’s hope that this focus on O’Brien continues. Soon after Enda took power, he said he would refer the findings of the Moriarty Tribunal to the DPP. Since then, there seems to have been a change of heart by our government and Labour as the supposed watchdog, seem happy that the multi-billionaire media baron is at the heart of sweetheart deals and debt write downs.
Perhaps with an election coming up, our government can do the decent thing and ensure justice is done. As the general public are now engaged in O’Brien’s affairs, it would certainly give their re-election chances a boost if they pledged to ensure that this is followed through. It may also help FF and SF to include following up on the Moriarty Tribunal, Siteserv, etc. in their election manifestos.
