Cenk Uygur of the Young Turks on TPP and the Trade In Services Agreement (TISA). You may feel an uncomfortable tingling sensation in your democracy glands. To wit:

The entire basis for maintaining our private extractive banking monopoly may have been thrown out the window. And that could help explain the desperate rush to “fast track” not only the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), but the Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA). TiSA would nip attempts to implement public banking and other monetary reforms in the bud.”

Sadly this just echoes the anti democratic permanently right wing agreements that have become part of the EU.Its a corporate world ,we just live in it.

As I understand no economic theory factors for a minimum wage.
In principal we are disposable units of production with a modifier signifying usefulness.
Therefore subsistence (at one end) and the rewards to inspire us (at the other end) are a matter of public debate.

Is this an ad for Renua, or Fine Geal Youth?

This is why people protest. This is the culmination of 30 years of ideological dismantling of the socially humane state for the purposes of private profit – anything not creating a profit will be left ‘for someone else’ to deal with….this place will be like Lagos or Bogota in a few years, Thatcher could only dream of this, and plenty of our own anti-social fat fingered gombeen men/women are quietly rejoicing..

The first half of that video is like something out of a Paul Verhoeven movie set in a corporate controlled military society… or some such. Scary sh*t.

Does our govt have the right to sign over who controls of our public services, health, transport, etc. to the whims of corporations?
This would suggest that they do…. biggest attack on democracy ever.

If you think privatising Irish Water is a concern… this will privatise EVERYTHING. And once privatised, it carries rules to prevent a govt from renationalising any services privatised…. it’s beyond scary.

I’ll have two soylent green food packs and one of those chlorinated chickens please.

Welcome to your children’s future! Coupled with the ubiquitous Internet of Things (which you might think is working for you, but is already tracking your movement and behaviour much better than Orwell’s Big Brother ever imagined). Dissenters will be put to sleep. You will be allowed to watch a screening of “Hey! Where’s my pants?” at least weekly to improve morale.
