Milo McCarthy

To others…

I am Milo McCarthy and I live in Cork, Ireland.

I am 11 years old and I love to play guitar and sing. I support Liverpool FC and I love rugby, reading and playing the xbox. I love my family, my brother and sister and all my cousins. I have so many things to look forward to in my life but I know I am no more deserving of anything than those children fleeing from Syria. It was really sad to see the pictures of the children on the beaches and the scary overloaded boats. I want to raise as much money as I can for the Irish Red Cross “Migrant Crisis Appeal” to look after these refugees in camps while on their way to a better life.

I plan to busk in Cork city and Midleton [Co. Cork] twice a week between now and Christmas or even longer if that’s what it takes to reach my target. I hope you will support me in raising money so we can help these people.

You can donate to Milo’s fundraiser here

Parents are probably secular humanist mindfulness coaches with a sideline in organic produce!

      Good job, parents.

…fairplay Milo but…wasn’t it the Irish Red Cross who took Google to court to find the identity of a whistle-blower who revealed that donations for the Asian Tsunami were still resting in an account five years after the event.

Did they? I stopped donating to them after that tsunami debacle. I’d have felt even more self-righteous if what you say is true.
I donate to another crowd now, just to be clear and so that you all think even more highly of me than you do already.

There are many grown ups in the world including Ireland who don’t have a fraction of the empathy, humanity, & understanding of the big picture as this deadly youngster! Well done.

Great kid, after the crisis he should organise a fundraiser to get Liverpool a decent centre half.

This is such a stark contrast to the unbelievable xenophobia I’ve been seeing on other media sources.

This kid should be so proud of himself. Cut the other nonsense out, all the pettiness and that, just help other humans out despite their kith or creed because they need it.
