Here’s a shot of the sunset earlier this evening over Dublin (yep, right before it decided to rain again)…It’s 5 shots bracketed and merged together in Lightroom to give some added HDR. Oh and shot with/from a ‘drone’ of course. Video here

Save Poolbeg.

The chimneys are beautiful and are an intrinsic part of the Dublin skyline. It’s not necessary to knock something old in order to build something new
      Now go away.

I say we take off and nuke the whole site from orbit, its the only way to be sure.
And on a lighter note, its lovely over here in north donegal this morning, small swell, its offshore and the late summer sun is… kind.
        Here’s clampers with the weather.

Poolbeg is lovely, and the Office of Light and Power for Dublin. However, what we could do is put two massive wind turbines there, painted in the same strips (or in Dub blue-&-blue), to add power to the city.

And/or we could develop some of that land for residential purposes. Maybe extend the luas down that way (or an underground light rail). Probably have to move the sh*t factory though.

I’m pretty sure the circular strictures in the bottom left of the photo are part of a poo powered power station.

Taken right from the heart of (rightly) restricted airspace too. This type of thing is going to get UAVs banned for all.

Flew a drone there (legally) during the summer, and the IAA wouldn’t let us go anywhere near that height, due to the fact that rescue helicopters use that corridor from the airport to Wicklow at low level, as well as the Air Corps and small planes too.
This drone flight is completely illegal and irresponsible. Broadsheet should take a stance and not share gobpoo’s videos.
He didn’t even bother his hole editing either which is probably a bigger crime.

Broadsheet should take a stand and not share photos or promote videos that show such disregard for the rules.
After putting other people at risk, Simon didn’t even bother to edit the video, which in itself is a crime too.

      Exactly this.

Not far off a thousand feet judging by the chimneys (which Google tells me are 681ft high), the usual ‘not above’ altitude that helicopters and light aircraft are assigned while following the Liffey.

HDR is the Showaddywaddy of photography. I know we’re not a visual nation, but really lads you’ve got to move beyond pictures of sunsets and sheep, it’s embarrassing.

Any idea what type of drone was used by Simon to snap this? I’ve been looking around for a decent one for exactly this purpose for a while…
