Stopping At ‘Spin’, ‘Waffle’ And Bullpoo Junction

at

"29/9/2015

This afternoon.

Hueston Station, Dublin

From ‘left’: Labour Party Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin, Taoiseach and Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny, Minister for Social Welfare and Tanaiste, Joan Burton and Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Paschal Donohoe speaking to the media as the Government announced €27 billion in funding for spending on capital projects from 2016 to 2021.

Legitimate announcement or so obvious-it-tickles pre-election gimmick whatsit?

We may never know.

New Metro North line expected to be in operation by 2026/2027 (RTÉ)

    €27 Billion bribe.

They know it works if you bribe politicians so they reckon it should work on the electorate.

All I want to know are the names of the developers who are going to benefit from the metro being put north of Swords, and how much they are contributing to (the campaigns….) and the project?

Secondly given that St Stephen’s Green was donated to the people of Dublin by Lord Ardilaun (Guinness) who gave the department permission to dig it up and destroy it? which they will. I’m sorry but it doesn’t belong to the Department of Transport and their friends….

Why not acquire the St Stephen’s Green centre and adjoining buildings, and great a proper central station for the metro, Christ knows they do this in other civilized countries…

I think they really believe this utter horsesht will wash

I realised earlier today that I actually hate these people…that upset me a wee bit as I don’t normally hate anyone, not even jonotty…but I think that it’s ok to hate them…..there’s good reason to, they lie.
this isn’t some idealistic twaddle or the fact that they are just incompetent clowns. these people espouse a form of civil architecture that I want no part of, they lie to get what they personally want.

Kenny/Burton/Martin, I wont vote for you. furthermore I will try to ensure that I use my vote to have the most direct impact that it can have in terms of preventing you and the archaic parties you lead from a return to power and I will do my level best to influence and encourage anyone I know to do the same

      vote independent

      fck you

Howlin – ‘ I think it is OK for Ministers to refuse taxi fares and command Gardaí time if and when a minister or jnr minister stubbs his toe. Look, if they used the govt jet you’d all be givin’ out anyway ‘

Inda – ‘ What he said, ’cause I never say nuttin’ righ’! ‘

Joan – ‘I don’t know what I am doing here… let them eat cake in my soup kitchen’

Dara Murphy – ‘ Look at me, look at me, I polished my shoes and can stand really, really straight, look! ‘

The worst part is FG are a shoe-in for re-election. You’re looking at probably Fine Gael’s weakest, most inanely ineffectual leader ever about to win their first ever second term.

The only I hope I have is that the arithmetic forces FF and FG into bed together so the less-bright among us will FINALLY realise their grandaddy’s war is over and we’ve HAD THE SAME PARTY IN POWER SINCE INDEPENDENCE.

It should also be remembered that on 07 they only won 31 seats , FG that is , Its quite possible they could do just as badly , not sure where their swing votes will go…

The only ppl I know who would admit to voting FG are ppl who have unseasoned pathological fear of SinFein or those who are being directly fed by FG (family member’s of members), some business sectors and possibly Farmers / agri sector like the glambia crowd ..

        1. ahjayzis

          Oh they’re out there.

I’ve only ever really met 3 or 4 actual self-admitted Tories, same thing applies.

In what way are they better or more competent than the 14 years of Fianna Fail before them?

In what way has the system they preside over fundamentally changed?

What policies did they embrace before 2008 that had they been in government would not have given us the same catastrophe Fianna Fail did?

In short – in what way is Fine Gael not a half-time substitute for Fianna Fail?

Does anyone in Broadsheet fancy calculating how much consultants have been paid over the past two decades in regard to transport projects?
DART Underground, Metro North, Metro West, Maynooth / Balbriggan / Kildare Electrification, Navan railway, LUAS to Finglas / Lucan / Bray / Rathgar, Bus Rapid Transit, S2S cycle route.
Not a single one of these have been completed, let alone even begun.

    Farcical country.

“The worst part is FG are a shoe-in for re-election”
I think this is very true. People dont seem to have learned anything from the past few years.
I wont be shocked to see these crooks in for another term followed then by the Fianna Fail miraculous resurection.
    I dont even despair anymore.

  6. Joe835

Very little to shout about re Metro North, other than the fact that it is still technically proceeding and the CPOs won’t expire and the millions already spent won’t have been spent in vain.

But I would have thought an ETA of 2027 means we’d be doing well to have it in place for Enda’s 80th…..

the DURTbird – coz its their rapid underground train and it takes ye to d’airport so you can leave this kip for a better life elsewhere.

  7. Extremeacc

I fear FG may actually end up in bed with FF.
This will make SF the main opposition party – gaining all the protest votes next time around.

  8. Original Cynic

Yeah €27 billion, of which €26.9 billion will end up straight into their “buddies” pockets!
