Who’s Sozier now?

Hozier writes:

What was sought from my end was an apology and redaction of an unfair inferral. This has been issued by Jason Beck (Chilly Gonzales, top), which I very much appreciate. I will continue to follow and respect his work and look forward to moving on from this issue. Jason Beck has been co-operative and understanding, and there are no hard feelings on my part. Thank you.

NO FIGHT!

I’m mad for conspiracy theories in this respect but I didn’t think they were that alike.

      1. Smashmouth

They’re more alike than the case of Sam Smith vs Tom Petty

Id be willing to bet Hozier settled this with Feist a long time ago

            It’s as good as yours

If you substantiate your claim I’ll refute it with proper reference and notes.

I want to see discussion on structure, chord progression, tone .. etc

And I won’t back down, so just stay with me while I prove you wrong.

Hozier sounds like a nice guy but that H-Block cell wall there is doing nothing for his image.

  2. On The Buses

A move straight out of the the [REDACTED] playbook. Threaten pre-emptive lawsuits and demand an apology. I’d like to say this is the first instance of heavy handed legal exercises from the Hozier camp, but it’s not.

Nose around among former bandmates of his and one shall find a stack of non-disclosure agreements.

They are actually “non diss Hozier” arrangements. You just need to clean your earwax out.

    Props to Joe.
The man who should be suing is Brahms (one-word monikers being in vogue for this case), whose work Mr Gonzalez himself acknowledged had similarities.

True, you can only judge a one hit wonder once their career has well and truly peaked and any chance of a follow up to match the one hit has evaporated. Hozier still has a few years to go.

You see, while nothing will live up to Take Me to Church in terms of commercial success and capturing the imagination of 2fm listeners, there are far better songs on the album.

A one hit wonder doesn’t tend to sell out shows 2 years after their “one hit” has been released on the public.

I’ve heard some of his other songs, they’re good in a sort of “Michael Bolton early years” sort of a way.

Andrew shouldn’t use big words he doesn’t understand.

You can’t redact an inferral. Chilly Gonzalez ‘implied’ direct theft of the Feist song which has the same chords, time signature and vocal melody.

The rest of the world ‘inferred’ direct theft of the Feist song which has the same chords, time signature and vocal melody.

I presume what he wanted was a ‘retraction of the implication’.
