This morning.

Spotted coming out of Killarney. Brendan Griffin [Kerry South Fine Geal TD] conforming to Kerry stereotypes. Is it legal to place a sign like this near a main road when it looks so similar to an actual road works sign? I love this country.

Any excuse.

As if you won’t be going nuts if your car was being wrecked by driving in area with crap roads & zero public transport…..

      “mad boggers”

The first link was at least a bit more interesting. The letter ‘B’ is beautiful, and as Swiss Toni would say, to pen the letter ‘B’ is like making love to a beautiful woman.

    Tis a stroke alright
    But a brilliant one

Bet there’s a few D2D4ers disgusted they didn’t think of it

I’m sure the necessary authority for the sign has been secured and it is not an offence under S. 71 of the Roads Act 1993.

So it’s wrong for him to do this and try to gain (rightfully or wrongly) credit for improving people’s lives but it’s ok for Paul Murphy/Mary Lou/Joan Burton et al to have their faces plaster on sheets through my front door telling me about how great they’ve been.

    City problems!!!

He didn’t personally secure funding. The funding has come from a national transport strategy.

Also, the sign is probably not legal. Posting fliers in your door is entirely legal.

FF were masters at this craic. a street light would go out. they’d send out letters to all the houses round the area saying ‘we’re gonna get that light fixed’. it gets fixed then there’s another letter sent out saying ‘we fixed the light, vote for us’.

Since he is claiming to have secured the funding for the road work, I am now curious about how he claims to have done it. Was it through a power call, or a power letter? Did he have to do any favours in exchange?

You wouldn’t have thought that politically things could have got much worse than the Haughey era and the Bertie era but somehow Fine Gael have brought Irish politics from the gutter down in to the sewers. It may just be 1 sign, but it’s a sign of the times.
