The man found dead outside Starbucks café on Westmoreland Street, Dublin at the weekend was not homeless, as we reported without verification.

The body of Jed Eddison, 30, of Grangecon, Co Wicklow was discovered at 7.30am on Sunday.

According to The Irish Times: [Jed] ‘had been driven from his home by his mother into Dublin city on Friday.’

We are sorry for any distress our post caused.

Exactly Fluffy. You did nothing wrong B.s. . Keep up the good work, you’re the only non biased media outlet we can depend on

The didn’t report. They just copied the Irish times report and then did their usual politicising, turning one man’s tragic demise into a statistic to push an agenda.

What ever happened to fact checking and objective reporting?

The SJW angle here was too good to pass up and BS went for the money shot – don’t be encouraging them!

And the selfish irish walked on by, too busy getting pished. They wouldn’t check in on a fellow citizen, for fear he might be homeless.
Welcome to 21st century ireland, what a failed state we are.

Do you really wake up everyone you see lying in a doorway on a night out to make sure they’re okay?

Ah yes, ‘They’, the ‘Irish’ are to blame for this man’s death. That’s nonsense dav.

Sad death all the same. The fact that he wasn’t homeless though was worth clarifying given current affairs – thanks BS.

Homelessness is absolutely rife at the moment and on any night you could pass at least 10 people sleeping in doorways. I don’t think it’s fair to blame everyone for not checking that every single person they pass is dying or not, homeless or not.

For one thing how are they meant to sleep if one in every hundred passersby on Westmoreland Street nudges them awake to check. It’d drive people off the main streets and into dark alleys.

Don’t mind Dav, he’s got the nipple clamps and cilice on and is enjoying every second of this tragedy. Rarely does he get such a chance to tell us all how morally inferior everyone else is compared to him. Time of his life. Lovely guy.

Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cooooold out there today.

dav, there are a couple of people passed out in a doorway on Pearse Street right now near the methadone clinic. Can you pop down and step over the discarded syringes beside them to check if they are ok? I am sure they will appreciate it.

I think Dav lives in a small rural town with a population of five… no wait, it’s now four, where they don’t get this kinda thing.

Nice bubble to throw stones from Dav. Like a priest giving relationship and parenting advice.
