I know I’ve been living abroad for a while but “I’m in Lego!” is that really a thing in Ireland?

I’ve never heard it used for a hangover.

      More like

“You’re like Lego, you’re in bitzzzzz”

“Yeah well you’re like Duplo, in bleedin’ bigger bitzzzz!”

There’s a more antiquated French one that goes “avoir mal aux cheveux” about feeling ill in your hair.

  2. Ultach

Tá braon nimhe sa cheann aige (he has a poisonous drop in the head)
    Póit (pron. pawitch) – hangover.

Never heard it: must be a regional thing. Then again, I only heard ‘in a jocker’ for the first time about 10 years.

The German one is correct but doesn’t really originate from the word for tomcat, it’s a knowing corruption of catarrh.

Look at that ™ mark beside Lego. Are they so compliant that they did that out of fear of being sued?

It ruins that panel because that’s all I see, a bloody trademark symbol.

Yeah but all the hopelessly midland towns or forlorn, neglected provincial ‘cities’ in the world wouldn’t save Ireland if Dublin disappeared.

It’s the one indispensable part of the county and you cud-chewing yokels can’t stand it ^_^
