Legalise Cannabis march, Dublin July 2009
Will we see the day when it’s decreed,
That Paddy can spark up some weed?
It would be nice if,
They legalised spliff,
Let’s face it, it’s just what we need.

In this country the type of conservatives who want to control womens bodies will never allow this …
And medical use? Those same conservatives would rather people die screaming …
Die screaming … in childbirth. Eh, eh?
I’ll get my coat.
I love ice cream.
Sorry, distracted, what?
This country will never legalize marijuana. Joe Duffy closed head shops, a radio show! This country is bizarre and backwards in so many ways.
It comes from the earth. We know the exact composition of these plants. I’d take a spliff over an alcoholic drink, any pill or any other drug. This is personal choice. In smoking a joint I know exactly what I’m doing and the risk I take. I am not addicted to it, I don’t find it addictive. I do find that a spliff at the end of the day, with a cuppa, is very relaxing. Nothing more. Of all the issues our garda resources are spent on, THIS, the policing of a drug that is 100% natural, as opposed to a cocktail of shite, and has proven medical benefits, is a waste of our money. The utter bullpoo and hypocrisy of the establishment is galling.
on the waste of money issue alone, you’re spot on. CSO figures consistently show 70-odd% of drug arrests are for simple possession.
It is a big fist shaker for me. When you look at alcohol in comparison as a drug, it is errant madness. The money wasted on policing a benign and highly useful plant, along with the money spent on alcohol related problems, which are varied and complex,
+1’s all the way!
