Any excuse

By Mick Flavin

Meanwhile…

There are some who accuse the Taoiseach of lying about such matters. I have absolutely no doubt he has not lied. To accuse Mr Kenny of lies is to misjudge the seriousness of the problem.

When he told us some months ago that workers contacted him to ask why they had a little more in their wage packets, we knew it wasn’t true. If you’ve a question about your wages, you don’t ring the Taoiseach, you ring Brenda in Accounts.

Later, he might have got away with his man-with-two-pints story, if he hadn’t repeated it a few weeks later, as though precisely the same thing had happened again.

He boasted about telling Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras how to fix his economy – telling him the Irish Government imposed no income tax, Vat or PRSI increases. Of course, this was nonsense. The Taoiseach was saying things that weren’t true, his explanation for this was threadbare – but it all got glossed over.

There is always something real at the centre of these yarns. Then, Enda elaborates, exaggerates, makes up little scenes, adds detail and dialogue, and in no time, he appears to believe his own fantasies.

Eh, folks, we need to talk, yet again, about Enda (Gene Kerrigan, Sunday Independent)

Gene Kerrigan is being too kind: Belenda is a deliberately deceitful man. He has no choice because the truth about how he and his Blueshirt/Labour cronies continue to sell-out their own people (the people who pay their inflated and undeserved salaries) is too disgusting and depraved to openly contemplate.

    Shame on all of them.

the irish political class. I know because I observe how they lie, cheat, steal and then deny all responsibility to the point of an aggressive bluster that even if they did wrong, they were entitled to do so.

and lets not forget the whole “its not your fault” / “it is your fault” affair. the most annoying thing about it all, is that he’ll probably be voted back in. Showing that you can openly lie as much as you like, be purposefully deceitful, and still govern the country. Sure didnt we have Fianna Fail in for an insane amount of time, and then they broke the entire country.. yet here they are, still in running, with lots of popularity, even though they should’ve been disbandoned for what they did. i hate the politics in this country, and it’s infuriating how people keep letting them run the show.

Kenny’s constant fibbing is a joke, but everyone can see through him. More serious is how he reacts to criticism, and his complete inability to mask his contempt for anyone, or any group who find fault with his parties actions/ inactions.

Gene Kerrigan is probably the last real journalist left in this country.
He has all their cards marked, and calls them out for what they are, SHAMS and CHANCERS.

This kind of behaviour just makes Ireland look like a backwater run by knuckle dragging fools on the international stage. As per usual. I’m tired of being embarrassed by our elected leaders. Well, our FG/FF leaders anyway. They’re either slimeballs, drunks or spoofers. The last three are at least.

Ah sure we all embellish when telling a story, add a bit here and there to make it sound more interesting. But usually you are telling it to somebody who is hearing it 2nd or 3rd hand, they have no idea what really happened, so they have to take you are your word. “The fish is this big, fought it for hours….” etc.. but when you are leader of the greatest country to do business in (well, 17th actually) and most of the story is reported in the media and people know a lot of the facts. Its down right stupid to go making poo up. You end up looking like a fool when people call you out. “actually the fish was 6 inches long and it jumped into the boat..”

Inda is just an example of what the Irish political system produces. Primary school teachers, relatives, local gombeens, etc, etc…

Perhaps it is. However it’s becoming increasingly obvious to the population at large that Inda has moved well beyond his performance envelope. Only hope now is a memory wipe and reboot. It beggars belief that a politician can distort the truth so often and yet not get called up on it…

It’s most likely because he has spent the better part of his life spoofing and lying, that he no longer can tell truth from fiction.
The man has never done an honest days work in his life.
But he will retire a very very wealthy man.
